Jose Bernabe Reyes was born in 1983 in the Dominican Republic. He grew up playing baseball without proper equipment as a child due to his family's financial situation. Reyes was signed by the New York Mets in 1999 after being noticed at a tryout camp. Throughout his career, Reyes received several awards and accomplishments including 4-time NL All-Star, 2011 NL Batting Champion, and holds Mets records for triples and stolen bases. In addition to his baseball career, Reyes also owns a record label for reggaeton music.
