Joomlatools Extensions Logos
A separate logo for each extension
Goal!
!
Create a separate logo for each extension to be used on:
the Joomla Extensions Directory,
our own website
and on external media like banners etc.
!
We needed our extensions to differentiate from each other because we’re
going to advertise the extensions separately.
Requirements!
!
Before we started we made a list of requirements for these logos:
!
Needs to have an aspect ratio of 1:1
Needs to have a horizontal version for smaller areas
Should be based on a grid for easy extending
Needs to work in monochrome color
All logos need to look good together
Must be extendible (modules, plugins etc.)
Proposed colors!
!
By using clear colors we ensure that we stand out on the JED for example.
Proposed font!
!
Open Sans Extrabold (Google font)
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
!
Open Sans Light (Google font)
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
!
By using an open source web font we are sure the right font is always
available to everybody. The “Open Sans” font has a lot of font-variations
and looks very good with the “Proxima Nova” font used on our website.
Use of font!
!
DOCman
LOGman
FILEman
EXTman
Icons!
!
Icons are based on a 24x24 grid and use rounded corners on the hard
edges to soften the overall look.
Bringing it together
Icon only
Horizontal
Extending for modules/plugins
Poster examples (built on EXTman)
An example of what we could potentially do
with the new logos.
!
By showing the gear icon in the back we can
show that DOCman is built upon EXTman
