Assistant Director, Youth Program Development, Australian Army Cadets
Australian Regular Army 2016
• Managing over 15 full-time and part-time staff in 8 locations throughout Australia.
• Conducting research into organisational policy matters affecting a national youth development
program, preparing advice to the Director of Program Development and to the CEO, coordinating
the preparation of appropriate nation-wide policy and procedures.
• Managing a team of full-time and part-time staff responsible for the production of a new continuum
of personal development activities for teenagers.
Australian Army Instructor at Indonesian Army Staff College
Australian Regular Army 2014 – 2015
• Lecturing (in English and Indonesian) 300 Indonesian Army and foreign Army students from 10
countries.

Manager, Career Advisory Group – Eastern Region
Australian Regular Army 2012

600 Army reserve officers (ranked Major and below) in NSW and ACT.
• Assessed the performance of these Army reserve officers to determine their potential for promotion.
• Transitioned the full time Army Personnel Agency – Sydney to an effective part-time out-posted group
of the centrally located headquarters, resulting in a positive contribution to the change management
process in the directorate.
• Providing advice to the Director of Reserve Officer Career Management on all career management
issues for these Army reserve officers.
Incident Manager, Headquarters Forces Command

• Led the development of the Forces Command incident management policy, analytical capabilities and
strategies, inclusive of incident management policy, notification frameworks and headquarters
incident transition management, ensuring policy compliance and responsiveness to Forces Command
needs.

• My interactions with Army’s incident management functions/staff, formations and training centres, to
drive wider understanding, uptake and education of incident management sensitivities, requirements
and processes has been a strength.
• My leading role in aligning Army’s incident management processes with that of Forces Command, to
ensure consistency (based on experiential best practice), to achieve real improvements in adaptation
and responsiveness, and to directly enable decision making has been a clear achievement.
• Through an educational and active monitoring process, reduced the number of ‘open’ incidents on
Army’s incident management Lotus Notes system by 25%.
Manager Future Exercises, Headquarters Forces Command
Australian Regular Army 2010
• Leading a team of full time staff responsible for the planning of major Forces Command exercises,
the development of the associated exercising strategy and the development of the Forces Command
international engagement strategy.
• Led Australian Army input to the planning of the largest combined Australian and United States
military training exercise that featured 14,000 US and 8,500 Australian personnel across six Defence
training areas in Queensland and the Northern Territory (in addition to the 22,500 troops, the exercise
involved 18 sea vessels, 25 aircraft and 1,500 road vehicles).

• Led the current business operations and future business planning teams, for a nation-wide
component of the Australian Army, comprising over 10,000 personnel in 7 major locations (107
depots) across Australia, resulting in improved achievement of assigned operational outcomes.
• Coordinated the preparation and provision of more than 3,000 part-time staff to overseas operations
and training exercises, ensuring that they were appropriately prepared and deployed on-time.
• Managed a budget of $64M Army Reserve Training Salaries and $15M Operating Expenses per year
