JIA in Chinese means home.
Starting from Chinese culture, JIA Inc. invites international designers with various cultural
backgrounds to explore and re-interpret Chinese object culture, traditional craftsmanship
and materials to create a new direction in the modern home ware market.

Through discussion and debate sparked by different points of views, JIA Inc. challenges
itself to overcome manufacturing obstacles and to be true to unique design ideas and
develop products that reach across boundaries, explores the borderlines, stereotypes,
prejudices and encourages differences with meaning.

S'inspirant de la culture chinoise, JIA Inc. invite des designers internationaux issus de
différents univers culturels à explorer une réinterprétation de la culture chinoise, de l'artisanat

De ces collaborations multiples, JIA Inc. challenge afin de surmonter les obstacles liés à
la fabrication et d'être fidèle à la conception originelle du projet. L'objectif est d'encourager

JIA Inc. partnered with Gearlab from Taiwan to create a one-of-a-kind coffee
pot that makes use of Purple clay's unique material qualities. The unglazed
sandy texture of natural purple clay is reminiscent of the warmth of the earth.
After extended use, the purple clay coffee pot takes on the fragrance of your
preferred coffee blend and the warmth of your hands. Your memories will fill
this coffee pot and cup, making them your own.

Les Chinois ont toujours été très soucieux du respect

assiettes élevées « Dou » datent de la dynastie Qin,
elles étaient utilisées pour les repas et pour des
cérémonies. Pendant les dynasties suivantes, les
assiettes Dou servirent également à de petits plats
à base de vinaigre. La partie supérieure est courbée

faciliter les positions assises des aristocrates.
La designer adapte la forme de l’assiette Dou, et l’a
met aux gouts du jour avec une surface irrégulière
pour lui conférer plus de modernité.

assiettes et les bases peuvent être démantelées pour
