Jesus has three main titles that signify important aspects of his identity: 1) Christ means "Anointed One" and refers to Jesus being anointed by God with the Holy Spirit to be the Messiah that the people of Israel had been waiting for. 2) Son of God refers to his unique eternal relationship with God as God's only Son and also signifies that he is God himself. 3) Lord indicates his divine sovereignty and authority, and confessing Jesus as Lord requires belief in his divinity as proclaimed by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is both fully God and fully human with a unified divine-human person.
