This document summarizes a passage from the book of Mark about a woman who anoints Jesus with expensive perfume. It discusses three key points: (1) See the opportunity to give generously, as this woman did in anointing Jesus, (2) Seize opportunities to give irrationally as they will not always be there, and (3) Settle acts of generous giving in your heart to determine your legacy. The summary emphasizes finding opportunities to give beyond reason in order to experience God's blessings and leave a legacy through irrational generosity.
God's heart is redemptive in nature. God never quits on what He starts. He loves and saves to the uttermost no matter what the cost. In this 3-part series, our goal is to understand and capture the redemptive heart of God, so that we will learn to view life's situations with His redemptive heart and also learn to be co-workers with God in His redemptive process for things in our own lives as well as of those around us.

Jesus was explaining the parable of the sowerGLENN PEASE
This is a study of Jesus explaining the parable of the sower. It is all about the seed and the soil and the fruitfulness of the combination. The Word is the seed and we need it in our lives to bear fruit for God.
MY apology for adding another book of conso-
lation to the number of like publications,
and of imitating such models as have before found
favor with the sorrowing, is twofold.
First, the wealth of such literature ever increases,
and, like the ripe harvest, ought to be gathered,
even though the granary seem already quite full.
Second, an important part of every true pastor's
labor is to comfort those that mourn. It is with
the devout hope that among the varied selections
here offered ministers may find some aid in cheering
the sorrowing that this little volume is sent forth.

Jesus was the source of heavenly cleansingGLENN PEASE
This is a study of Jesus being the source of heavenly cleansing. The tribulation saints in heaven have their garments washed white in the blood of the Lamb. It is the only way to be made clean for heaven-the blood of the Lamb.
Jesus was urging us to pray and never give upGLENN PEASE
This is a study of Jesus urging us to pray and never give up. He uses a widow who kept coming to a judge for help and she was so persistent he had to give her the justice she sought. God will do the same for us if we never give up but keep on praying.
This is a study of Jesus telling a shocking parable. It has some terrible words at the end, but it is all about being faithful with what our Lord has given us. We need to make whatever has been given us to count for our Lord.
This is a book you will surely love to read. it probes into the virtue of humility with JESUS CHRIST us the GREAT OBJECT OF STUDY. I hope after reading this book you will really enjoy it and be changed by it
Matthew 6:2-4. Synopsis: Jesus’s first example of properly practicing your righteousness is about giving to the needy. Our God is a giving God and He has consistently expected his people to help those who are in need. However, as the contrast between Joseph and Ananias and Sapphira demonstrates, it’s vital that we help because we want to help not because we want to be noticed. Paul reminds the Corinthians, and us, of the proper way to give righteously.

Part 1 of a 3 part series on stewardship. This sermon focuses on the Old Testament pattern of giving. It will shed some light on what tithing really is about.
Luke 6:38 Give and it will be given to you. Sharing with others. Doing good and showing concern. Doing good without the praise of men. Amount is determined by what you have left after you give. Giving is laying up treasure in heaven.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

3. Mark 14:3-11
3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the
table in the home of Simon the Leper, a
woman came with an alabaster jar of very
expensive perfume, made of pure nard.
She broke the jar and poured the
perfume on his head. 4 Some of those
present were saying indignantly to one
another, “Why this waste of perfume?
5 It could have been sold for more than a
year’s wages and the money given to the
poor.” And they rebuked her harshly. 6
“Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are
you bothering her? She has done a
beautiful thing to me. 7 The poor you will
always have with you, and you can help
them any time you want.
But you will not always have me.8 She did
what she could. She poured perfume on
my body beforehand to prepare for my
burial. 9 Truly I tell you, wherever the
gospel is preached throughout the
world, what she has done will also be
told, in memory of her.”
10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve,
went to the chief priests to betray Jesus
to them. 11 They were delighted to hear
this and promised to give him money.
So he watched for an opportunity to
hand him over.
4. Poverty is not the will
of God in your life.
Poverty is not a
kingdom lifestyle.
Wealth is from God to
benefit the people you
serve, to help others, to
know God’s generous
heart and share His
goodness.
To be blessed and
prosperous is an
opportunity from God.
Opportunity knocks
only once.
A person who wants to
be blessed and prospered
by God, sees and seizes
every opportunity and
settles it in his heart.
6. Mark 14:3-4

extravagant display of devotion
generosity; something of great value
giving requires pain and sacrifice
breaking leads to wholeness
giving generously
aroma that
reaches
the heaven
11. Acts 20:35
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by
this kind of hard work we must help the
weak, remembering the words the Lord
Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to
give than to receive.’ ”
13. Rational means within
reasons. Irrational means
beyond reasons.
Every time you desire to
give irrationally, you enable
God to move and make
miracles.
Irrational giving opens the
floodgates of heaven for
miracles to take place.
Giving is something we do.
Generous is who we are.
Generosity is giving beyond
what is usual,
what is required.
14. Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God cannot be
mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
15. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
6 Remember this: Whoever sows
sparingly will also reap sparingly, and
whoever sows generously will also reap
generously. 7 Each of you should give
what you have decided in your heart to
give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.
16. Proverbs 25:22 (Voice)
22 For your kind treatment will be like
heaping hot coals on his head, it may
cause a change in heart, and the Eternal
will repay you.
17. God loves a cheerful giver
because He is also a
cheerful Father.
A good Father is
a good giver.
Every time we give, God
shares a part of His
character to us – a
generous Father.
Only a generous giver
would experience a special
kind of joy that only a
giver could have.
Do you see any
opportunity to give?
19. Mark 14:4-5
4 Some of those present were saying
indignantly to one another, “Why this
waste of perfume? 5 “It could have been
sold for a year’s wages and the money
given to the poor!” So they scolded her
harshly.
Irrational generosity will not make
sense; no one will understand
The world will never understand
what only God can explain.
21. Malachi 3:9-12
9 You are under a curse—your whole
nation—because you are robbing me. 10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse,
that there may be food in my house. Test
me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and
see if I will not throw open the floodgates
of heaven and pour out so much blessing
that there will not be room enough to
store it. 11 I will prevent pests from
devouring your crops, and the vines in
your fields will not drop their fruit before it
is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all
the nations will call you blessed, for yours
will be a delightful land,” says the Lord
Almighty.
22. Tithe is following
God’s law.
No one is rewarded by
following the law as the
benefit of it comes through
obedience.
Offering is giving beyond
the usual. It is directed by
love in your heart.
When you give expecting
something in return it is
called harvest. Harvest is
what the devourer
comes for.
23. Malachi 3:11
11 I will prevent pests from devouring your
crops, and the vines in your fields will not
drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the
Lord Almighty.
28. Mark 14:6-7
4 Some of those present were saying
indignantly to one another, “Why this
waste of perfume? 5 “It could have been
sold for a year’s wages and the money
given to the poor!” So they scolded her
harshly.
6 But Jesus replied, “Leave her alone.
Why criticize her for doing such a good
thing to me? 7 You will always have the
poor among you, and you can help them
whenever you want to. But you will not
always have me.
29. Irrational generosity is a
special act of worship that
pleases God.
When you see an
opportunity, don’t think
twice – seize it, because
you will never know when
you will have it again.
31. Every issue of Kingdom is
an issue of the heart.
Every issue of the heart is
an issue of Lordship.
32. Mark 14:8-9
8 She has done what she could and has
anointed my body for burial ahead of
time. 9 I tell you the truth, wherever the
Good News is preached throughout the
world, this woman’s deed will be
remembered and discussed.”
God is not asking for what we
don’t have.
Your generosity will determine
your LEGACY
34. When you are settled in
the Lord, you settle
everything in your heart.
Irrational generosity means
settling in the Lordship of
Jesus Christ.
Trusting God
for everything
God will prepare you for
every opportunity that you
settle in your heart.
Every opportunity to give
is an opportunity to be
blessed.
Each time you see, seize,
and settle an opportunity
to give determines the
legacy you want to leave.
35. Mark 14:10-11
10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve
disciples, went to the leading priests to
arrange to betray Jesus to them. 11 They
were delighted when they heard why he
had come, and they promised to give him
money. So he began looking for an
opportunity to betray Jesus.
36. Isaiah 59:19
19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord
from the west, and his glory from the rising
of the sun. When the enemy shall come
in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord
shall lift up a standard against him.
