This SlideShare will tell you the Jeremy Lin story, from birth to fame. Sorry I could not incorporate pictures, I didn't have time. The tags have some stuff you can look at about Jeremy Lin (hopefully)
2. Birth
Jeremy Shu-How Lin was born on August 23rd,
1988, exactly 10 years after Kobe Bryant was
born. His parents were Gie-Ming Lin and
Shirley Lin. His older brother was Joshua in.
Later on, Joseph Lin would be born.
3. Early basketball life
Jeremy’s father was introduced to basketball, and got hooked to it. He tried
sending Jeremy into a league when he was in 1st grade, but all Jeremy did was
stand in the middle of the court, sucking his thumb. He tried soccer, but didn’t
like it. As he grew older and matured, he started to like basketball more. He
asked his Dad if he could join the league. At first they refused, but he promised
to do his best. He then joined the league, and dominated. Sometimes he had to
be taken out of the game because he scored the maximum amount of points for
a player. It was obvious Jeremy was destined for greatness.
4. To High School…. And beyond!
Jeremy Lin joined the Palo Alto High School.
He was the point guard, and led their team to a
California State championship, where they won.
5. Rejected and Refound
Jeremy desperately needed a college. He was a very smart man,
but still had no luck. He tried his best to join a college, but he
was rejected by Stanford (because he was Asian). He later got a
chance at the Ivy League school division at Harvard. He joined
the basketball team and made Harvard History. He surprised
everyone with his smarts and basketball skills. Soon everyone
was holding signs, saying “Welcome To The Jeremy Lin Show.”
NOTE: Jeremy’s mom threatened to ban Jeremy From playing
on the school team if he got a B in class. He didn’t.
6. Undrafted
Jeremy decided to go pro. He went into the
NBA draft, where he was undrafted. For all he
knew, his basketball career was starting to
crumble.
7. D-League Star
The Golden State Warriors decided to acquire Jeremy. He
was a back-up. His most productive game was when he
notched up 12 points and several dimes. But he only
played 29 games that season, before he was sent to the
Development League (D-League). He and John Wall were
incredible players.
Despite his incredible performance, he was waived by the
Warriors and sent to free angency.
8. A LINteresting Acquire
Jeremy Lin was acquired by the New York Knicks in his
2nd year. Another backup spot was reserved for him. But
an injury put the Knicks to rely only on Carmelo Anthony. It
was the second quarter against the Nets. The Knicks
needed a point guard. Carmelo, who had seen Jeremy
play, told the coach (Mike D’Antoni) to play Jeremy Lin. So
he did, and Jeremy finished the game with 25 points and a
comeback win from the Nets. Thus began Linsanity.
9. LINSANITY
There was a long stretch of epic performances from
Jeremy Lin. Suddenly, the team was doing pretty decent.
Some performances was Jeremy scoring 21 points in one
game, 38 points against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, 25
points against the Nets, etc.
Now Lin, the undrafted 2nd year man out of Harvard
University was making history.
10. Traded
Unfortunately, since the Knicks were being offered a lot of
money and talent for Jeremy from other teams, he was
sent to the Houston Rockets, despite his 14.6 PPG and
dominating leadership alongside Carmelo Anthony.
11. Closing
Jeremy Lin played with the Rockets for two
years, averaged about 13 points per game, and
is now the point guard for the Los Angeles
Lakers.
