It was learned that zooming in looks awkward and it is better to cut directly to a close up shot instead. Additionally, it was learned that using a variety of shots from different perspectives makes the film look better as a whole by providing different views of the same situation and adding tension. Including both long shots of characters running and close ups of their facial expressions helps show how scared and out of breath they are.

2. 7. Looking back at your
preliminary task, what do you
feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the final
film?
 Looking back at our preliminary task and
how it compares to the final opening
sequence, I have learnt that ‘zooming in’
looks awful and difficult to do cleanly and is
not as effective as jumping to a close up
instead of zooming in., this is why we
decided not to include any zooms in our
opening sequence.

3.  I also learnt that the more of a variety of
shots you use the better the film looks
as a whole because you get different
views of the same situation from
different perspectives and in this case it
adds to the tension to have long shots of
them running and then close ups of their
facial expression as they run to show
how scared and out of breath they are.
