1. JENNIFER LOPEZ Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), also known by her nickname J. LO, is an American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, television personality, fashion designer and television producer. Jennifer Lopez was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She financed singing and dancing lessons for herself from the age of 19. After months of auditioning for dance roles, Lopez was selected as a dancer for various rap music videos, a 1990 episode of Yo! MTV Raps and as a backup dancer for the New Kids on the Block. She gained her first regular high-profile job as a "Fly Girl” dancer on the television comedy program In Living Color from 1991–1993. Soon after, Lopez became a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and made an appearance in her 1993 video "That's the Way Love Goes". Her first leading role was in the biographical film Selena(1997), in which she earned an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress. Lopez came to prominence in the music industry following the release of her debut studio album On the 6 (1999) which spawned the number one hit single "If You Had My Love". She led People en Español's list of "100 Most Influential Hispanics" in February 2007. A fashion icon, several of her dresses have received considerable media attention, most notably the Jungle green Versace dress which she wore at the 43rd Grammy Awards in 2000 which has been voted the 5th most iconic dress of all time. Jennifer Lopez had two marriages before marrying latest husband Marc Anthony. On July 15, 20011 it was announced that she was splitting with Marc Anthony, husband of 7 years. They had two children together.
2. 1999- Work Records ‘If You Had My Love’ Jennifer Lopez's debut album On the 6, a reference to the 6 subway line she used to take growing up in Castle Hill was released on June 1, 1999, and reached the top ten of the Billboard 200. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one lead single, "If You Had My Love“. The album also featured a Spanish language, Latin-flavoured duet "No Me Ames" with Marc Anthony(who later would become her husband.). The Latin dance breakdown towards the end of her music video introduced her as the only female Latin American in pop music. The dance moves were inspired by Janet Jackson as J.Lomade an apperance in Janet Jackson’s ‘That’s The Way Love Goes’ in 1993.
4. 1999- Work Records‘Waiting for Tonight’ ‘Waiting for Tonight’ is a song originally recorded by American female pop trio 3rd Party for their 1997 album Alive. Jennifer Lopez recorded a version for her debut album, On the 6 (1999), and the song became the third single from the album and also the most famous version of the song so far, being considered one of Lopez's signature songs. The theme is centered around a millennium party for 2000. The flashing lights in the club are used to represent the upbeat style of the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_66jPJVS4JE&ob=av2e
5. 2001- Epic Records‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ Lopez's second album, J.LO, was released on January 23, 2001 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Throughout the video there are inter cut scenes of J.Lo in her golden underwear lying on the sand and on the water, and dancing near trees. This evokes a lot of sex appeal and at the end of the video she takes off her top and covers her breasts with her hands. This is the third video where Jennifer has incorporated a dance routine or breakdown and in this video she does a dance breakdown with a group of men. This shows Lopez dance past and also became a trend in other pop artists videos like Britney Spears. The album's lead single, "Love Don't Cost a Thing", was included on the soundtrack of the film, The Wedding Planner, in which she starred in. The 2001 film, The Wedding Planner, opened at number one at the box office making her the first actress and singer in history to have a film and an album, at number one in the same week.
6.
7. 2001- Epic Records‘I’m Real’ “I'm Real” is the song taken from her second studio album, J.Lo (2001), which features rapper Ja Rule. It was performed at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards and won the award for Best Hip-Hop Video at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. Some people in the African American community were outraged by Lopez's use of the word "nigga" in the Murder Remix of ‘I’m real’ but, it has not been removed. In this video her image is quite urban because of the setting and the collaborartion with the rapper Ja-Rule. This is the first video that a man has made an apperance in and she seems to have a relationship with a man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sjx9oSJDAVQ
8.
9. 2002- Epic Records‘Jenny from the Block’ "Jenny from the Block" was a single from Lopez's third studio album, This Is Me... Then (2002). It features rappers Style P and Jadakiss. Jennifer Lopez has been known for collaborating with male rappers and this was done to help her construct the story of love in her music videos between a male and a female. In its lyrics, she insists that success has not spoiled her yet and that she remains the same girl she has always been. The song reached number one in Canada and entered the top ten on the majority of all other charts it appeared on. However some people labelled J.Lo as hypocritical because of her extreme lifestyle. Her boyfriend of the time Ben Affleck also appears in this video, showing the couple as the paparazzi intrudes in their daily life.
10. 2002- Epic Records‘All I Have’ ‘This is me…Then’ is the third album by Jennifer Lopez. "All I Have" which is a single features rapper LL Cool J. It was originally intended to be titled "I'm Good", but was changed because it sounded too similar to her 2001 hit "I'm Real". The video has a very cold atmosphere with special effects of fake snow. Her image has started to change now because there are less dance scenes or breakdowns in the videos she released after her 2001 single ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing’ and she has started to collaborated with a lot of rappers on her album. She is perhaps trying to target a more broader audience from her earlier songs that she released at the beginning of her career. Also, the collaboration with rapper may be because she is trying to show her versatility and trying to appeal to African American audiences instead of her faithful Latin American fans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88wN0uhoo8o
11. 2002- Epic Records‘I’m Glad’ "I'm Glad" is the third single from Jennifer Lopez's third studio album, This Is Me... Then (2002). Its remixes became club hits in the United States, propelling the song to number four on the Hot Dance Club Play. The choreography by Jeffrey Hornaday was adapted from his work for the 1983 film Flashdance starring Jennifer Beals, whose character, Alexandra Owens, is also a construction worker by day and an exotic dancer at night. Lopez wore an outfit similar to that Beals wore in the actual film and she also stated that this was one of her most complicated videos and that a lot of effort was put in it. The video received four nominations at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards including Best Dance Video. Jennifer Lopez showed her other passion in life which is dance as she dances almost throughout this video. Her image as a sensual dancer is restored in this video as it shows her doing a prepared piece for an audition. Her dance moves portrays her as a Latin American through her sensual dance moves. Her image is also shown in this video through her costume as she is the only girl dressed differently.
12.
13. 2005- Epic Records‘Get Right’ “Get Right” is the lead single from Jennifer Lopez's fourth studio album, Rebirth. The single peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Lopez's tenth top 20 single in the U.S; it also peaked at number one in numerous countries including the United Kingdom, becoming her first chart-topper in Britain since 2001's "Love Don't Cost a Thing". The main video, directed by Francis Lawrence, depicts Lopez playing different characters at a nightclub. That same year, the song became a national anthem theme song for the NBA helping the league promote the 2005 NBA Playoffs and the conclusion of the 2004–05 NBA season. This video also includes a dance breakdown. Her energetic dance moves may be to reconnect with her fans beacause of her three year break from music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WIsnC-h1d0&ob=av2e
14.
15. 2005- Epic Records‘Hold You Down’ "Hold You Down" is the second and final single from Jennifer Lopez's fourth studio album, Rebirth (2005). Released in 2005, the single features rapper Fat Joe, and peaked at number sixty-four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and at number six in the United Kingdom. The title of the album was chosen as an attempt to start a new beginning after the "Bennifer" fall-out and the immense critical and commercial failure of the 2003 film Gigli. Jennifer Lopez teams up with Fat Joe again another rapper to portray a love story of two couples who have been through a tough relationship and a tough life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zwwx5nszs3o
16. 2007- Epic Records‘Como amaunaMujer’ “Como amaunaMujer” (How a Woman Loves) is the fifth studio album, and first in Spanish by American recording artist Jennifer Lopez. The lead single of the album, "QuéHiciste", was released to some radio stations in January in North America. The song was released to major radio stations on March 27, 2007 which was the same day the album was released. The second single from the album was "Me HacesFalta", written and composed by Anthony. The third single off the album was "PorArriesgarnos", a duet with then-husband Marc Anthony. With Como AmaunaMujer, Jennifer Lopez is one of the few performers to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 with a Spanish-language album.
17. 2007- Epic Records‘Do it well’ Brave is the sixth studio album by American recording artist Jennifer Lopez, released on October 4, 2007 by Epic Records. "Do It Well" was used as the theme song for the 2008 Miss Fitrum competition on the Philippine game and variety show Wowowee; as well as on the soundtrack of the 2008 romantic comedy film The House Bunny. This single is reminiscent of her 1999 song “Waiting For Tonight” with its upbeat and the dance feel to it. The video prtrays Jennifer as a strong woman coming to save a liitle boy. This could be used to portray the meaning of the video which would be that she is still in the music industry to stay because of the 2 year gap she took away from music to have her two children. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dnTLx4XQDI&ob=av2n

Jennifer Lopez’s concept for the video was to club scene and she released this single with the intentions of making people dance when they hear it. The up-tempo dance tune makes it very fit for a club tune but it also contains some elements of Latin American from Latin American rapper Pitbull. The release of the also coincided with Lopez's debut on judges panel for season ten of American Idol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4H_Zoh7G5A&ob=av2e
