Editor's Notes
Introduction to presentation. Capturing audience with crisp, clear, interesting image.
Keep every slide simple. Don’t allow the audience to be distracted by overpowering images.
Limit your text. If a slide is too full of text, the audience will be distracted and confused. They will be wondering whether to listen to the presenter or to read the text on the slide.
Transitions can be distracting and cause the audience to lose focus on the presentation.
Using high quality images increases the professionalism of your presentation. An audience will not take the presenter seriously if there are blurry, distorted images on each slide.
Most likely, the audience has sat through many PowerPoint presentations and seen most of the default templates. Use high quality images to create templates for each slide or use original ones that the audience is less likely to have seen.
Keep charts simple and organized. Too much information on a chart reduces its value. Too-detailed charts will leave the audience confused and take attention away from the presenter.
Color (or lack of color) is a powerful tool to capture and engage the audience.
Font should be easy to read from every point in the room. Use a professional, easy to read font. Try to keep the same font throughout the presentation.
Audio and video captures the audiences attention. When inserted at certain points it allows the audience to take a break from listening to the presenter and this will recapture their focus.
Slide order should follow a clear, reasonable outline. The audience should be able to follow along easily.
