Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Gen Z Active Programme (tidak dilaksanakan murid Tahap 2 menduduki Ujian Formatif 1)
Perhimpunan Sekolah
Cikgu Sorayani akan membuat pengumuman pada jam 6:40 pagi supaya murid mengikut giliran berbaris
keluar dari kelas menuju ke dewan sekolah.
Cikgu Kalsom, Cikgu Rafedah, Cikgu Syafiqah dan semua guru akan mengatur kedudukan murid di dalam
dewan mengikut kedudukan terkini (murid lelaki dan murid perempuan diasingkan kedudukan).
Cikgu Zainal dan Cikgu Radzi menguruskan alat siar raya (set up PA sistem dan memastikan softcopy Lagu
Negaraku, Lagu Sekolah dan Lagu Ibu Pertiwiku ada di desktop komputer perhimpunan).
Cikgu Zainal akan memainkan ketiga-tiga lagu tersebut mengikut urutan ketika perhimpunan.
Ustazah Siti Maon dan Cikgu Ipis mengesan pengawas bertugas dan membahagikan tugas MC, Doa, Ikrar
(dalam BM), Peraturan Sekolah dan Anti Dadah.

Gen Z Active Programme (dilaksanakan di dalam dewan sekolah menggunakan paparan LCD dan video
sebagai panduan pergerakan senamrobik)
Cikgu Sorayani akan membuat pengumuman pada jam 6:30 pagi supaya murid mengikut giliran berbaris
keluar dari kelas menuju ke dewan sekolah untuk Gen Z Active Programme (bermula murid pra sekolah,
Tahun 1B, 1C, 2B, 2C dan seterusnya).
Ustazah Siti Maon, Cikgu Radzi dan Cikgu Ipis akan berada di dalam dewan pada jam 6:30 pagi untuk
mengatur kedudukan murid yang masuk mengikut kelas.
Cikgu Zainal akan menyediakan peralatan siaraya dan LCD untuk program.
Cikgu Kalsom akan mengawal suasana di dalam dewan dan akan memulakan senamrobik bersama semua
guru rumah Purple/ Venus.

BIDANG TUGAS:
MENGAMBIL KEHADIRAN MURID RMT DAN MEMANTAU MURID RMT DI DATARAN RMT
- Mengambil kehadiran murid RMT berdasarkan murid yang mengambil makanan RMT pada hari tersebut, mengesan
murid yang tidak hadir pada hari tersebut, menghantar gambar senarai murid RMT yang hadir tetapi tidak mengambil
makanan RMT kepada guru yang membuat pengumuman, mengambil gambar menu.
MEMBUAT PENGUMUMAN NAMA MURID RMT YANG TIDAK MENGAMBIL RMT
- Menerima gambar senarai murid RMT yang hadir tetapi tidak mengambil makanan RMT dan membuat pengumuman
nama mereka menggunakan sistem siaraya
13. INFO TAMBAHAN :
*Guru Penyayang (6:40 – 6:50 pagi)
– Cikgu Ipis dan Cikgu Zainal bertugas di Pondok PIBG. Guru bertugas perlu membawa satu pengimbas suhu jenis stand
(tidak diwajibkan murid memeriksa suhu).
– Cikgu Kalsom dan Cikgu Radzi bertugas di laluan Pra Bestari dan memastikan semua murid yang lalu mencuci tangan
terlebih dahulu sebelum masuk ke kelas (tidak perlu memeriksa suhu murid).
– Ustazah Siti dan Cikgu Soraya bertugas di kawasan sinki mencuci tangan (laluan Blok Tahap 2) dan memastikan semua
murid yang lalu mencuci tangan terlebih dahulu sebelum naik ke kelas. Jika terlalu ramai murid beratur, sinki di
bahagian Pondok PIBG boleh digunakan.
– Sila jarakkan murid yang menunggu giliran mencuci tangan di sinki.
– Jika cuaca hujan, Cikgu Kalsom dan Cikgu Radzi akan bertugas di laluan susur gajah (laluan berbumbung) dan
memastikan murid mematuhi SOP iaitu mencuci tangan dan menjaga penjarakan setelah ibu bapa/ penjaga
menurukan mereka.
*Perhimpunan Sekolah
– Cikgu Zainal dan Cikgu Radzi menguruskan alat siar raya (set up PA sistem dan memastikan softcopy lagu Negaraku, lagu
Sekolah dan lagu Ibu Pertiwiku) ada di desktop komputer perhimpunan.
– Cikgu Soraya akan memainkan ketiga-tiga lagu tersebut mengikut urutan ketika perhimpunan.
– Cikgu Ipis dan Ustazah Siti Maon mengesan pengawas bertugas dan membahagikan tugas MC, Doa, Ikrar, Peraturan
Sekolah dan Anti Dadah.
16. MAKLUMAT UNTUK CALON:
1. Google Form ini mengandungi 30
soalan. Jawab semua soalan.
2. Soalan 1 hingga 25 diikuti oleh
empat pilihan jawapan iaitu A, B,
C dan D. Pilih satu jawapan yang
paling tepat dan tandakan pada
kotak jawapan yang disediakan.
3. Soalan 26 hingga 30, sila taip
jawapan pada ruangan kosong
yang disediakan.
17. MAKLUMAT UNTUK CALON:
1. Google Form ini mengandungi 30
soalan objektif. Jawab semua
soalan.
2. Setiap soalan diikuti oleh empat
pilihan jawapan iaitu A, B, C dan
D. Pilih satu jawapan yang paling
tepat dan tandakan pada kotak
jawapan yang disediakan.
3. Anda perlu membuat jalan
pengiraan untuk mendapatkan
jawapan.
