JABEZ FARMS OF TEXAS IS A 501-c3 NON-PROFIT JULY 2015
Residential Living for
Young Adults
Upon turning 18, many children who age out of the Foster system are
not prepared to transition into society as functioning adults as they
have limited resources and support systems in place. Jabez Farms
of Texas, a non profit 501c3 organization, will address the physical,
emotional, spiritual and economic needs of young men who have
aged out of the foster system by providing a unique support system
that embraces their age, culture and lifestyle. The farm and other
entrepreneur endeavors will serve as teaching tools. Jabez Farms
will have access to resources that will better equipment them for
successful and abundant lives.
“For which one of you, when he wants to
build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate
the cost to see if he has enough to complete it”
(Luke 14:28-30).
In James 1:19-27, God reveals how He expects believers to behave. He questions intent and
asks us to care for what he cares for. He reveals behaviors that are contrary to what His will is. He asks
us to “humbly accept the word planted in us.” He wants us to remember what we have heard, and be
blessed by doing His work.
He specifically asks us to “look after orphans and widows who are in distress, while keeping
oneself from being polluted by the world.” We believe that God cares deeply for the orphan. Through
the love of Jesus Christ, and a community of like mined supporters, the spiritual and physical needs of
older orphans will be met.
The James 1 principle encapsulates the spiritual foundation that is the essence of Jabez farms.
This foundational truth applies to those who serve at Jabez Farms as well as those being served.
The founding members of Jabez Farms of Texas seek the wisdom of God in order to keep from “being
polluted by the world.” The operating principles that are founded in biblical truth will protect the kids
and the farm. God created the original version of sustainability and that it is timeless and useful for
creating change in today’s world.
“Love your
neighbor
as yourself”
(Mark 12:31, NAS).
“For an overseer,
as God’s steward,
must be above
reproach”
(Titus 1:7).
