MY GRADUATION
21 APRIL 2014
3
On the 13th of Februay 2012 I left home and went to University to study. I studied Publishing studies at
Universaity of Pretoria. I was among the students who were given an opportunity to stay at Res. I spent 3
years of my varsity life at a residence known as Kollegetehuis. This book is about my graduation, and in this
book are the most important people in my life, my parents , my sister, and some of my friends I met during
my time in varsity. Some of those are my Res mates, the guys I spent my time with when I was not on
Campus. They are like my brothers, one thing they thaught us at Res was brotherhood. The last thing I will
say is that this has been the most wonderfull time of my life not only the graduation ceremony but also the
memories during my student life.
4
They said I wouldn’t make it I remember it like it was yesterday. brother, mentor and friend.
Victor Mthimunye
5
Being born from disadvantaged backgrounds
did not stop us from dreaming.
She’s been my pillar of srength
in difficult times I knew I could
count on her, she is more than a
sister to me she is are my friend.
My sister Thuli.
6
A great man is always willing to be Little. My mom and dad.
7
A great achievement is usually born of great
sacrifice, and is never a result of selfishness.
Res mates Sito and Tupac.
8
Set your goals high and never stop until you get there.
9
I bless the day I met her shes been my inspiration and motivation, she inspires me to
become a better person, I made the best moments of my varsity life with her.
Abongile Skosana.
10
Giving up was never an option.
11
The choices you make today will shape your future.
12
There is no way we can strive without a struggle. Brother and Res mate Mxolisi Masango.
13
I was lost and couldn’t find a way, now I look forward to everyday.
Colleague Idah Mahlangu.
14
15
A strong man who has known power all his life,
loses respect for that power,
But a weak man knows the value of strength
and knows compassion.
The journey was long and hard. It wasn’t easy but in the end it was all worth it. This was the best day of my
life. I never thought that one day I would graduate, coming from a disadvantaged background.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported me on this day.
