This document provides information about the 2011 Italian FITDS National Steel Championship occurring on October 29-30 at the Gualtieri Shooting Range in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The match will consist of 8 stages with 195 minutes of shooting for each gun/division across 1-2 days. Competition will be offered in multiple rimfire and centerfire divisions. Awards will be given for overall winners as well as categories. Registration fees vary from €40-140 depending on the number of guns competed with.

AWARDS (individuals) : Sponsors & Cash prizes will be awarded as following:
Steel Master: 1st , 2nd and 3rd place
Event Winner: 1st place only (both in the Rimfire and Centerfire Event)
Division Overall: will be awarded the top five places of each Division (with less than ten
competitors for each Division will be awarded only the top three places;
with less than five competitors for each Division awards will not be
assigned).
Stage Winners: 1st place only for each Stage
Category Overall: 1st , 2nd and 3rd place (with less than five competitors for each
Category awards will not be assigned).
GRAND RAFFLE DRAWING: Each competitor will receive one ticket for the drawing, for each
gun/event they enter. The winning tickets will be drawn on the Range,
at the end of the awards ceremony on Sunday

2. MATCH FORMAT: Half-day shooting format: competitors will shoot 8 stages per half-day,
for each gun/division, during one or two days (as choosed in the
registration-form).

4. Supplies needed for the match
1. Semi-automatic pistol or double action revolver. Center fire pistol calibers only, 9mm and up for the
centerfire match. .22 rimfire are used in the Rimfire match. (IMPORTANT NOTICE: according to
the Italian law 9x19 (Luger) caliber guns and ammos are strictly forbidden !!).
2. A holster that covers the trigger or a gun case. No holster is required for the 22 Rimfire Match.
3. Extra magazines or speed loaders (enough to fire at least 25 rounds without leaving the firing line.)
4. Hearing protection, muffs or plugs, and eye protection.
5. A minimum of 25 rounds of ammunition per stage is required. For an eight stage match (195
rounds minimum) at least 300 is recommended.
Scoring
1. This Steel Challenge match consists of eight stages.
2. Seven stages consists of five strings except for Outer Limits which has four strings.
3. Each stage usually has five targets. Four of the targets that can be shot in any order. The fifth
target, known as the "Stop Plate", will be the last target engaged and stops the time of the string.
4. If all four targets were hit before the "Stop Plate" is hit the total raw time is scored for that string.
5. Each target not hit before the "Stop Plate" is hit incurs a +5 second penalty per target not hit that is
added to the raw score.
6. Failure to complete a string will result in a score of 30 seconds for that string.
7. The four best times are used for scoring. Total of these four count as your stage score except for
Outer Limits which counts 3 out of 4 times.
8. Competitors who, for whatever reason, choose to start from the "low ready" position, vice drawing
from a holster will be scored in ROOKIES category. This does not apply to .22 Rimfire competitors
