Data cards are peripheral devices that connect computers to the internet using a SIM card from a service provider like Airtel or Reliance. There are two main types of data cards - specific provider cards that only work with one network, and general cards that work with any SIM card. To connect a data card, the driver must be installed, the card plugged into the computer's USB port, and the access point and username entered in the connection software. Data plans for cards depend on the mobile network provider and can be either 3G plans supporting both 3G and 2G networks, or 2G plans only supporting older 2G networks.

Data Cards Are Of Usually 2 Types:-
Specific service provider data card
General data card

7. SPECIFIC SERVICE PROVIDER DATA CARD
These Are Those Data Cards Which Are Of Any
Specific Network Service Provider (Eg.
Airtel,Reliance,MTS,BSNL e.t.c.)
• These data cards can work only with the SIM
card of their own network. But it can be
cracked to work with any other SIM card.

8. GENERAL DATA CARD
• THESE ARE THE TYPES OF THOSE DATA CARDS
WHICH CAN BE OPERATED WITH SIM CARDS
OF ANY NETWORK PROVIDER.
• E.g. MICROMAX,BETTLE,MAX e.t.c.

9. DATA PLANS
• Data plan of Data card is depend upon the
plan of the network service provider.
• Based on data plans, Currently data cards can
be classified into two categories:-
1. 3g Data Card- (Supports both 3g & 2g
network)
2. 2g Data Card ( Supports only 2g network)
