This document discusses human rights and their core principles. It defines human rights as basic rights and freedoms that belong to all people from birth until death regardless of ethnicity, culture, gender or other attributes. Some key points made are:
Human rights include civil/political rights like freedom of speech and economic/social/cultural rights like rights to health and education. They also include collective rights of groups. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights established the first international agreement on human rights in 1948. Core principles are that human rights are inalienable, interdependent, and guarantee equality and non-discrimination for all.
Universal jurisdiction is a legal principle that allows states to prosecute individuals for serious crimes regardless of where the crime was committed or the nationality of the perpetrator or victim. It is based on the idea that certain crimes are so serious that they affect the international community as a whole. States can exercise universal jurisdiction over crimes like genocide, war crimes, and torture. While the International Criminal Court also prosecutes these crimes, it is limited to crimes committed after 2002 by or on the territories of member states. Universal jurisdiction applies the criminal laws of individual states to bring perpetrators to justice.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize to the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet for its role in the country's transition to democracy following the 2011 revolution. The Quartet, consisting of representatives from major Tunisian civil society groups, mediated negotiations between political parties when the democratic transition faced collapse in 2013. This led to the adoption of a progressive constitution and paved the way for free elections. The Committee praised the Quartet for bringing warring factions together and demonstrating that Islamist and secular groups can work together in building a democratic system respecting human rights and pluralism.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize to the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet for its role in establishing a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia following the 2011 revolution. The Quartet, composed of representatives from major Tunisian civil society groups, helped resolve a political crisis when it proposed a national dialogue between political parties. This led to the adoption of a new democratic constitution in 2014. The Quartet's efforts ensured a peaceful transition to democracy and prevented civil war from breaking out in Tunisia. Their success demonstrates that Islamist and secular groups can work together in the interests of society and that democracy can thrive in an Arab Muslim country.
Justice for women cannot come from minds shaped by capitalismRizky Faisal
This document summarizes the situation of violence against women in Turkey and argues that justice for women cannot come from capitalist systems that separate religion and state. It outlines various legal changes and policies enacted in Turkey over the past few decades aimed at protecting women, yet violence against women has continued to increase. The document asserts that only by reestablishing the Islamic Khilafah system can true justice and protection for women be achieved, as it ensured women's rights and safety for over 13 centuries. It calls on Muslims to support reestablishing the Khilafah rather than appealing to the current secular Turkish state.
The document summarizes a parallel event at the 54th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women discussing good practices to achieve the UN Millennium Development Goal of promoting gender equality and empowering women. It provides details on panelists and topics from NGOs focusing on education, income generation, and women's empowerment projects. It also describes the Women's Federation for World Peace in Europe's work promoting women's dignity and a culture of peace through conferences, campaigns, and educational materials.
This document summarizes a paper about women's rights in Tunisia and Egypt following the Arab Spring uprisings. [1] It discusses how women played a prominent role in the revolutions but face uncertainty about maintaining rights in the new governments. [2] Tunisia has made more progress, electing a president committed to women's rights and gender equality, though full representation is still uncertain. [3] Egypt has seen less progress for women's rights, with Islamic parties seeking to limit women's roles and no women involved in rewriting the constitution.
This document summarizes Amnesty International's assessment of the state of human rights in 2018. It highlights that 2018 was defined by women's resistance and activism around the world fighting for their rights. While women have made progress in some areas, such as legalizing abortion in Ireland and Argentina, many governments still openly support policies that oppress women. Globally, millions of women lack access to reproductive healthcare and abortion. Gender-based violence also remains widespread. The document concludes by acknowledging human rights defenders, especially women, who continue fighting for rights despite facing threats and violence.

This document provides an overview of human trafficking as a global phenomenon. It discusses how human trafficking has become more complex over time, filling exploitative labor positions beyond just sex work. A key factor in distinguishing trafficking from other exploitative work is whether victims have the ability to quit. The document also outlines the components of human trafficking as typically involving an origin country, transit country, and destination country, though now these roles can sometimes overlap within one country. It aims to inform readers about the realities and complexities of human trafficking as it occurs globally.
The document discusses gender and human rights from various perspectives. It begins by defining human rights and outlining the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It then discusses criticisms of the UDHR regarding its lack of consideration for women's and LGBT rights. The document also examines various international agreements aimed at promoting gender equality and women's rights, such as CEDAW, UN Resolution 1325, and the Maputo Protocol. However, it notes that in reality discrimination and violations of women's rights continue to persist. The document also discusses views on gender and human rights from an Islamic perspective.
The widespread of violent extremism and terrorist attacks undermined societal stability and world peace. Additionally, it deepened the expansion of intercontinental crimes, money laundering and other illegal acts that have a crucial impact on global politics and economy. Thus, tackling this phenomenon within a legal and judicial framework is important for preserving human rights and societal peace, in addition to guaranteeing the right to a fair trial. The establishment of a comprehensive and fair judicial and legal system will help protect young people from joining radical terrorist organizations and strengthen the efforts to reintegrate these young people into their societies. Thus, this policy brief will discuss the post-revolutionary Tunisian context and its association with the phenomenon of violent extremism and will examine the new Tunisian Constitution and the new anti-terrorism law. Furthermore, this policy brief will also focus on the importance of reforming the Tunisian legal and judicial system in order to protect human rights and guarantee the rights and freedoms to all people, for that they are the foundation of the Tunisian revolution. Finally, there will be a series of recommendations directed at politicians and Tunisian legislators.

This report examines stigma faced by survivors of sexual violence in conflict zones. It draws on interviews with over 400 survivors and community members in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The report finds that stigma poses tremendous barriers to recovery for survivors and hinders their ability to seek justice against perpetrators. It presents recommendations to address stigma and ensure justice for survivors from their perspective, including calling on governments to take action to establish a world where sexual violence is unacceptable.
The document discusses violence against women and gender equality in the European Union using Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Hungary as case studies. It provides definitions of key terms and statistics on violence against women in the EU. It then outlines actions the EU has taken to address violence, including the 1986 resolution, the Daphne Programme, and the 2011 Istanbul Convention. Finally, it analyzes levels of violence and gender equality in the four case study countries.
This document discusses sex trafficking and its links to pornography. It defines sex trafficking as modern day sexual slavery where people are enslaved into sexual practices like prostitution through coercion and force. Most victims of sex trafficking in Europe are women from Eastern Europe who were promised better opportunities but were instead forced into sexual exploitation. Common trafficking routes move women from countries like Moldova and Ukraine through the Balkans and into Western Europe. The document argues that pornography is at the root of the demand for sex trafficking in Western Europe, as societies that abandon biblical morality view women as objects without intrinsic value. It claims examining the relationship between pornography and sex trafficking is an important first step in addressing this issue.
The document discusses the author's experiences visiting Palestine and witnessing the hardships faced by Palestinian women under Israeli occupation. Some key points:
- The author was deeply impacted by hearing personal stories from Palestinian families about their struggles with the Israeli occupation and military.
- Palestinian women take on significant burdens like caring for families and being breadwinners despite facing violence, land loss, limited access to healthcare and education for their children.
- The author has continued visiting Palestine annually to offer solidarity and tell the stories of Palestinians in the UK to raise awareness of the situation.
The issues that surround female dressing are mere symptoms of the root problem of “The Objectification of the Female Gender.” The problem is simple. The female body (as a whole and in parts) is looked upon as sexual objects to be exploited for everything. In the minds of certain perverted persons and entities, the female as a person does not exist, only pleasurable bodies.5 That is the reason for the abnormal emphasis on baring naked flesh similar to the display of flesh dangling from hooks of a butcher’s shop.

This document provides an executive summary of a report by the European Women's Lobby assessing the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action over the past 20 years in Europe. It finds that while progress has been made in some areas, gender equality has not been fully achieved and new challenges have emerged. The summary highlights that women now participate in all areas of society but still face discrimination. It also notes that a renewed feminist movement has emerged but is facing a strong backlash. Overall, the assessment finds that gender mainstreaming has not been fully implemented in the EU and gender stereotypes persist. The report aims to inform EU policies and actions over the next 5 years to further advance women's rights and gender equality in Europe.
1) The representative discusses Romania's support for gender equality mechanisms and legislation, including a law passed in 2011 to protect women from domestic violence and Romania starting the process of signing the Istanbul Convention.
2) Recent legislative efforts in Romania include a new law aiming to create a gender equal climate and ensure equal opportunities, pay, and employment. This law has passed the Senate and is undergoing the legislative process.
3) While progress has been made through new legislation, continued efforts are needed such as public communication campaigns to educate women on their rights, and collaboration to implement solutions to challenges like violence and wage differences that still exist.

China is forming intelligence sharing alliances with countries like Pakistan in order to protect its national interests amid increased opposition from other countries after the pandemic. China controls over 60% of Pakistan's economy and provides it with large loans and aid. In return, Pakistan will help look after China's national interests. China is also expanding its Belt and Road initiative and seeking collaboration from countries like Afghanistan and allies like the Taliban. Through strategic investments, debt-trap agreements, and intelligence alliances, China aims to expand its sphere of influence and counter threats from Western alliances like the Five Eyes.
This points to the present scenario, the world is heading towards the biggest destruction mode. so many incidents shook the world. we have to rethink about survival and business techniques to survive.

2. Istanbul Convention Treaty For
Women Safety
If you want to see the progressof a society, then look at the situationof the
women of that society. Today, violence is increasing with womenall over
the world and every day 3 to 1 women are suffering from harassment. The
cases of harassment with womenare increasing daybyday. Manylaws have
been enacted to prevent harassment of women. So that crimeswith women
canbe stopped, and criminalscanbe punished. One of these is a law known
as Istanbulconvention. Thislaw was enacted by the Councilof Europe to
prevent violence against womenand to punish criminalsfor their crimes.
For the first time, this conventionwas signed in Istanbul. The first country
that signed thisconvention was named Turkey. Turkey signed this treatyon
May11, 2011, and communicated theCouncilof Europeby implementing
the act. Then after some years in 2017, EU also signed this treaty, now in
the present, 33 countrieshave signed this treaty.
Manycountrieshave signed this treatybut it has not been ratified bysome
countries, some of which are Armenia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary,
Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Republic ofMoldova, Ukraineand the UK.
Some countriesalreadyreject thistreatyinfirst timelike Russia &
Azerbaijan
But now some countriesareleaving thistreaty. One of which Country
Poland has officially announced. Now thenews is also coming, Turkeyis
also going to leave thistreaty, but no official informationhasbeengiven yet
by the Government of Turkey.
3. Points of Istanbul Treaty Not Clear
The thingsgiven in thistreatyarenot clear, the women-specific word has
not been used in this treaty. Due to which manycountrieshave objections
to thistreaty.
The pointsare given in thistreaty, which crimeshould go to the criminal
office, these thingsarenot completely clear. Like stalking hasjust been put
in a way to criminaloffenses.
The pointsgiven in thistreat promoteLGBT and transgender. Due to which
many countriesconsider thistreatyas anti-culture.
Protest by Poland & Turkey women association.
The officialgovernment in Poland has withdrawnfrom thistreaty. Which is
opposed by the Women'sAssociation. Right now this protest isnot going to
stop, news of such protestsis coming from manyplaces.
4. The growing crimeinTurkey has reached a very worrying situation, a few
days agoa woman who was 24 years old wasmurdered by her boyfriend.
After that, the Turkish government has caught thetalkof IstanbulTreatyto
withdrawal.
5. Reason behind Femicide
For centuries, an idea has been put in our mindsabout women, that it is
just an item that we have to use accordingtoour needs.
Womenhave been subjected toharassment for manycenturies. Manykings
have considered women as only entertainment. Peoplefollow all these
thingseven after seeing theking.
If the responsiblepeople worked to strengthenthe statusof women in
society, then in today's time, therewill not be so much crimeagainst
women.
Womenwere kept behind in many thingsin society, due to which the
situationofwomen got worse. Due to which crimesstarted happening on
more women.
It is difficult to changethethinking of people even today, even today
women arenot being givena chanceto competein society. Due to which
crimehasincreased.
Summary
Crimeson women cannot be stopped by making laws. Every countrywill
have to thinkabout the securityof women and their growth. A lot of
educationprogramsand advertisementswillhave to be done to changethe
thinking of people. This is not a one-day change. Everyone hasto strive to
makethis change, themental thinking about womenin societyneeds to be
changed.
The growth of society is hiddenin the growth of women, if we do not give
opportunityto a women, our societywill go backward.
