ISLAMIC MONOTHEISM (TAUHEED)
High and Exalted Allah has said:
 “And your God is One God ----- Allah. There is none who has the right to be worshipped but He, the Most
Gracious, the Most Merciful.” (Qur’an, 2:163)
Islamic Monotheism or Tauheed is the faith in only One True God, Who is the only one worthy of worship. He has neither son nor
partner. He is the true God, and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes.
No one shares His divinity or His attributes. God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything
in the whole universe. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing. He is All-Wise in all of His actions and decrees.
No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but God alone.
Tauheed is the basic doctrine and eternal message brought and confirmed by all the Prophets of God and finally, it was revealed to
the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Muslims believe that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is the last Prophet sent
by God. True Tauheed erases sins and misdeeds; it guards a believer against Hell and leads to Paradise as mentioned in the
Noble Qur’an:
 “Allah has promised those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Tauheed) and do deeds of righteousness, that for them there
is forgiveness and great reward (Paradise).” (Qur’an, 2:82)
Shirk (polytheism) and Kufr (disbelief) is the greatest sin against High and Exalted Allah (God). Associating partners with Allah in
worship is disastrous. It destroys good deeds and brings about the wrath of Allah, as Allah has said:
 “Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that anything else to
whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.”
 “Those who have disbelieved and died in disbelief, the earth full of gold would not be accepted from any of them if it were
offered as a ransom. They will have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.” (Qur’an, 4:48 and 3:91)
 “And whoever holds firmly to God, then he is indeed guided to the Right Path.”
                                                                                                                  Islamic Monotheism-4_99
