The first man was able to be rescued because he had an app on his phone called the Internet of Heart, which detected his heart issue and alerted others to his location so he could get help in time. The document proposes a system using wearable devices, phones, and GPS to detect heart issues, alert emergency responders, and improve survival rates for heart attack victims.
