Editor's Notes

  1. So simply put we acquired companies very inexpensively and then made them very profitable in a very short period of time. As a result we were able to deliver 40% GM very fast. In hindsight, we delivered this 40% without much difficulty. Or put another way in spite of the inbuilt inefficiencies we still delivered 40+% GM’s.
  2. Emotional trauma…we cut employee wages and benefits… Good will impairment theory…..we were shutting down businesses and locations faster than we bought them…..
  3. David comment… This graph basically told us “the change is here”
