This document is a statement by Melissa Mark-Viverito in support of Intro 371-A delivered to the New York City Council on March 2, 2011. She argues that the bill would help address reproductive health inequities faced by women of color by lessening the power of crisis pregnancy centers. She applauds the efforts of two Republican women in Wyoming, Lisa Shepperson and Sue Wallis, who have stood up for women's rights and choice despite pressure from their party. Mark-Viverito urges the Council to vote in favor of Intro 371-A to safeguard women's health and dignity.
