Internship Journey:
ECU Test Automation
In my first week as an intern, I've embarked on a project to automate test
scripts for Electronic Control Units (ECUs), marking a promising start to
my experience.
by Fazaoui Bader
Workspace Setup
Setting up the workspace was the initial step, involving collaboration with Mr. Bilel to
understand the integration of LabVIEW and Vector CANoe software.
1 Collaboration
Working alongside Mr. Bilel provided
a strong foundation for the project.
2 Software Integration
Understanding LabVIEW and Vector
CANoe was crucial for automation.
Equipment Preparation
The preparation of essential equipment, including VECTOR VN1630A and the gearbox PSA
ECU, was a critical step in the process.
Network Interface
VECTOR VN1630A for CAN/CAN
FD/LIN was prepared.
ECU
The gearbox PSA ECU was readied for
the automation task.
LabVIEW Integration
We attempted to integrate LabVIEW with Vector CANoe using shared variables, a promising approach to
automation.
LabVIEW
LabVIEW's shared variables were configured for
the project.
CANoe
CANoe's configuration was aligned with
LabVIEW's variables.
Configuring Shared Variables
Step one involved configuring shared variables within LabVIEW, setting the stage for
seamless communication.
1 Step 1
Configuring shared variables in LabVIEW.
Deploying Shared Variables
The second step was deploying these variables, a pivotal moment in the automation process.
1 Step 2
Deploying shared variables in LabVIEW.
Integrating with CANoe
The third step focused on configuring the shared variables within CANoe, ensuring compatibility and
functionality.
1 Step 3
Configuring LabVIEW shared variables in CANoe.
Project Framework
The groundwork for automating ECU test scripts has been successfully laid, with the initial
framework established.
Groundwork
Essential groundwork completed.
Framework
Initial project framework established.
Looking Forward
I'm poised to delve deeper into the development process, contributing to the evolution of our testing
capabilities.
