is undergoing a major economic development and businesses are
booming. A little-known fact about Malaysia is that its economy is
one of the most competitive in Asia, and growing at a steady rate.

An internship in Malaysia - your first
step towards a cool career
• Taking an internship is a smart way to start a long and promising
career. It is a clever way of gaining relevant practical knowledge to
the function of a business, and internships are also frequently
identified as the best way to land a full-time job. Internships are a
convenient way to test off different career paths, enabling a student
to see which industry could be attractive to explore after
graduation.
• More than providing valuable and relevant experience, an
internship extends your professional network, which may be one of
the most valuable currencies in a modern working
environment. The specific characteristics of internships, such as
their duration, type, and whether or not there are paid, tend to
vary. This is usually based on industry and/or company size.
Working and living in Malaysia
• Most of the country’s economic activity happens
on the Peninsula where the bigger cities are
located, including the bustling capital Kuala
Lumpur. The country has a fairly large
international community. That is partially due to
a number of multinational employers that offer
job opportunities there. Malaysia is also rising in
popularity among international university
students: According to a UNESCO survey, it ranks
among the Top 10 study abroad destinations for
students enrolled in tertiary education.
Find an internship
• Many international companies, such as Ernst
and Young, KPMG, Nestle, Dell, Intel, Shell and
Unilever run internship programmes in
Malaysia. Internships are offered in different
business areas, such as customer
development, finance, human resources and
marketing, so you can find something that
matches your interest.
permanent visas and residency
programs
• The requirements for obtaining a permanent visa are very simple,
but the process can take up to several years. If you qualify, you can
opt for the residency program in Malaysia instead.

apply for permanent residence. For foreigners married to Malaysian
