FACT is one of the largest Filipino American student conferences in the Midwest that is held annually by the Philippine Student Association. It features workshops run by professors from various universities focusing on past, present, and future Filipino and Filipino American issues to educate and empower delegates. Philippine student associations from across the US attend FACT. A student from Thailand was chosen in a nationwide competition to receive a full scholarship contract to study landscape architecture at the University of Illinois, obtaining bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees. The student then had to return to Thailand to initiate and teach in the country's first landscape architecture program in Bangkok for 30 years, committing to this plan at age 17.

It explores the structures, motivations, and major objectives of foreign policy-making in both developed and developing countries (such as US, UK, Germany, France, Russia, China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar). The aims of this first part are to determine how national interests in foreign policies affect national development, and to identify avenues in which the former contribute to the latter. The second part of the course explores major trends that shape the role of national interests in foreign policymaking, such as regional integration, the rise of non-state actors and emerging donors in development co-operation, non-traditional security threats including climate change, the global financial and debt crisis.
