It forecasts that by 2021 an artificial kidney will be developed, that marriage equality will be legal in the United States by 2024, and that solar flares will strongly impact Earth's magnetosphere by 2013. The document also predicts advances in curing deafness using stem cells by 2022, developments of new drugs for Alzheimer's by 2030, and the first solar probe flying into the sun's atmosphere by 2024.
