2. Objectives
To highlight the importance of data, its use and issues
at field level
To develop basic knowledge of CMAM recording and
reporting tools
3. Utilization of data

Implementation
Monitoring and Evaluation of program
4. Efficient and effective Information System will help
evidence based decision making for priority setting,
quality and coverage of care
Rational decision making will support and improve
performance and quality of health care services
5. Any information system should collect, integrate, and
produce information on financial, operational, and
health status of the serving community for planning
and rational decision making
Data must be collected, processed and transformed,
communicated, and used to inform decisions on
planning and policies, staffing, service delivery,
supervision, and other elements of the health system .
6. Large amount of data are collected, through routine
information system, but there is little utilization of this
data for evidence based decision making
Most health care providers perceive health
information as a burdensome task with no relation to
their needs at the facility level for decision making
and accountability
7. It is considered as filling endless registers every week or
every month, and compiling and sending out reports without
receiving any feedback from supervisors.
Poor feedback from managers and limited knowledge of
health care providers about the usefulness of routine health
information data results in poor quality of data and its use .
8. Implementing any information system is a socio-
technical issue which involves and is influenced by
technology, people, processes, and the context of the
organization .
