Working in libraries and with information involves connecting people with the information they need by solving problems and embracing new technology. There is a variety of places one could work, such as law firms, schools, and government departments. There are also various jobs like knowledge manager, digital librarian, and cataloguer. Working with information is more varied than some may think and does not just involve stamping books and enforcing silence.

you might think.
You’ve got to be a ‘people person’ as you’ll be connecting
people with the information they need. You will be solving
problems and embracing new technology. You will need to
have good communication skills and be methodical.
There is a variety of places you could work: law firms,
prisons, public libraries, schools, universities, government
departments, health libraries, commercial organisations,
the list goes on...
There’s also a variety of jobs you could do: knowledge
manager, information advisor, library manager, digital
librarian, cataloguer, learning resource manager, the list
goes on...
And no, it’s not about stamping books and saying “shhh”
