The university was founded in 1945 and has two main campuses in Cali, hosting various faculties and research centers. It offers education at technological, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels across 252 academic programs, including doctorates and medical specialties. The Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium was constructed in 1937 on land donated by poet Pascual Guerrero, and has since hosted numerous sporting events in the city.
