What is Infertility?
Infertility is the inability to conceive within
a year of being sexually active without
protection. In some cases it could be the
inability to conceive within 6 months of
trying.
10 to 15 percent of couples have this
challenge when they try to expand their
family, so you are not alone.
The promising factor in Infertility is that
there are treatments to try and many
different options for you and your partner.
Symptoms:
Some things that can make you wonder
about Infertility besides that you’re having
a hard time conceiving within a year could
be:
 Irregular menstruation or none at
Test & Diagnosis
There are several tests that can be done
for men and women:
 Hormone Testing
 Semen Analysis
 Ultrasounds
 Biopsy
 Genetic Testing
 Ovulation Testing
 X-Ray
If you feel that you and your partner may
be Infertile, talk to your Doctor and see
what they can do to help or diagnose what
the problem may be for either of you.
Treatments:
 Treating infections or sexual
intercourse problems
 Hormone treatments or
medications
 Surgery
 Assisted Reproductive Technology
If you and your partner are diagnosed with
Infertility either of you could seek
treatment before looking at other options
such as Adoption, No Children, Surrogate
or IVF.
Risks
Remember that throughout this journey,
you are not alone! There are many
couples that are on this same journey
and it’s all for a reason. Knowing ways
that you can help prevent Infertility and
the risks that could be causing your
Infertility are important.
