Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

HISTORY
With 24 companies spread throughout the world, Ind.i.a. spa
is the leader in production of semi-finished products and
modular systems in metal for construction and architecture.
Its products, distributed in 136 countries, have been chosen
to protect and adorn some of the most important buildings in
the world, including: the palace of Justice and the Colosseum
in Rome, the park Terenure in Dublin, Disneyland in Paris, and
many other prestigious villas and residences in St.Petersburg,
passing through London, Beijing, and Saint Tropez.
Ind.i.a. spa - Industria Italiana Arteferro was born 1971, in
Malo (Vicenza). Over the years, it has become a world leader
in the forged iron manufacturing. The gradual need to expand
the presence areas led to the establishment of various
business units with specific features aimed at stainless steel
production and at management of turnkey commissions for
large works, both public and private. That is how IAM Design
and Gonzato Contract begun.
Thereafter, to meet the growing need of raw material of high
quality and with features always more particular, the supply
chain has been completed incorporating also the production
and rolling of steel through the subsidiary Nuova Cogeme
srl. Thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of Architect, Bruno
Gonzato, accompanied by his wife Stefania, whom is an
architect and designer as well. Also, by his sons Francesca,
Matteo, Davide, Dario, and by his son-in-law Andrea,
the group now has 25 companies worldwide, including 6
production plants and 19 commercial warehouses.

4. The Arteferro product line includes over 32,000 semi-
finished ornamental items made of wrought iron,
brass, and bronze: pierced bars, forged pickets,
pre-assembled panels, leaves, flowers, baskets,
roses, scrolls, rings, and other decorative elements,
as well as a rich variety of home furnishings. It is the
task of blacksmiths to assemble them into finished
objects such as railings, fences, or any other creation
suggests his creativity.

7. Ragionare nell’ottica delle certificazioni è per noi ormai
diventata una prassi consolidata. Il nostro impegno
si caratterizza per la costante ricerca di qualità e
innovazione sia in ambito tecnico che procedurale.
Nel 1999 abbiamo ottenuto la Certificazione di Qualità
ISO 9001, poi rinnovata annualmente, fino al più
recente adeguamento alla norma ISO 9001:2008.
Tale certificazione ha come obiettivi il monitoraggio
dei processi aziendali e il costante innalzamento della
qualità dei prodotti e dei servizi offerti al cliente.
Nel Febbraio 2006 la nostra azienda ha ottenuto la
certificazione per l’ancora più severa normativa ISO
14001, ovvero la certificazione dedicata all’ambiente.
Questo ulteriore traguardo ci permette di considerare
la nostra realtà all’avanguardia non solo dal punto
di vista economico, ma anche per quanto riguarda
l’ambiente e la società che ci circondano.
Abbiamo inoltre ottenuto le certificazioni di prodotto
necessarie per una vasta gamma dei nostri articoli,
ribadendo così l’alta qualità dei nostri manufatti e
tutelando le esigenze di sicurezza dei nostri clienti.
Ind.i.a. è impegnata da sempre nel sostenere l’utilizzo
intelligente delle risorse del nostro pianeta. Per tale
ragione nel 2012 ha fatto installare, presso la sede di
Malo, un impianto solare che copre una superficie di
3,5 km², con potenza nominale di circa 575 kW. I quasi
2.400 moduli fotovoltaici che compongono l’impianto
permettono una considerevole autoproduzione di
energia elettrica.
Dal punto di vista ambientale questo sistema di
generazione di energia pulita ad impatto zero, in
quanto generato da una fonte rinnovabile come
quella solare, evita l’emissione di sostanze inquinanti
dalla produzione di energia elettrica attraverso
l’utilizzo di fonti non rinnovabili (carbone, petrolio,
gas ...).

In February 2006, our company obtained the

This milestone allows us to consider ourselves as a
reality at the forefront, not only in economic terms, but
also with a careful view for the environment and the
society around us.
We also obtained the needed product certifications for
a wide range of our items, confirming the high quality
of our products and protecting the safety requirements
of our clients.
Ind.i.a. has always been committed to promote
an intelligent use of our planet’s resources. This is
the reason why, in 2012, it has commissioned the
installation, in its headquarters in Malo, of a solar
plant that covers a surface of 3.5 km², with a rated
power of 575 kW. The almost 2,400 photovoltaic
modules that form the plant, allow a remarkable self
production of electrical energy.
From the environmental point of view this system
of generating clean energy with zero impact, as
generated from a renewable source such as the
solar one, avoids the emission of pollutants from
the production of electricity through the use of not
renewable sources (coal, oil, gas ...).
