Like every Filipino know we got our Independence on June 12, 1989. As an independent citizen of the republic of the
Philippines, as a teacher, and a DepEd official I would like to encourage everyone in here to spark the spirit of patriotism
in youth. There are so many independence day celebration activities the school is providing for our youth and that is
good, but I think we need to do much more for this nation not only taking part in events and programs because it will not
be sufficient in the progress of nation development.
The essence of celebrating Independence Day every year is to make our young generation to be aware of each and minute
sacrifices that our martyrs have done to make this country a better place. The founding father of this nation along with
numerous freedom fighters who have given their lives to the country, wanted this nation to be independent and happy. So
we all should not let their blood and sweat go waste. So, for our learners in the community of Sta Lucia, together with
their parents, their families, and of course your school, the Sta. Lucia HS let us let us build a nation that is kind, tolerant,
rational, and hardworking, these I assumed buried in the hearts of those heroes who struggled against the Spaniards and
suffered for independence. They assumed that the coming generations would handle the glory of being independent with
responsibility with good sense, and grace. We should not let them down. More than parades, speeches, and rallies, the
best way to celebrate independence is to take our responsibility seriously and spread love and tolerance and make the
Philippines stronger and morally upright. Joy to the nation and Happy Independence Day once again!
