Use Of Bright Colours We used this convention in our piece as we thought that the bright colours helps to build a positive feeling meaning that the comedy is more likely to come across in the scenes. A Link To Love Over Her Dead Body In our piece we used natural lighting to set the scene, this is shown in the café where the lighting shone through the windows on the ceiling and the stain glass windows. We also used bright coloured costumes to give the piece a uplifting and happy feel. It also made the actors/actresses stand out. Bright colours were used in the opening of ‘Over Her Dead Body’ such as the natural lighting used. The day is nice and the colour of the sky is pure blue, which is an idealistic view. Also Eva Longoria is dressed in a pure white dress and her staff are also dressed in white which could represent innocence and also gives a vibrant feel to the opening.
Women Shown As More Powerful Then Men We used this in our piece as we thought it was important as this is what interested the vast majority of a romantic comedy’s audience. Women want to watch a romantic comedy as it shows an idealist version of love. It allows them to escape, so therefore including this will show this idealist view. A Link To Love Over Her Dead Body This is most apparent in the cafe scene where the women shows her authority by slapping the Peter and embarrassing him. We also see it in the house scene where the woman leaves the house even though Peter is pleading with her to stay. 'Over Her Dead Body' as the women was in charge of the wedding reception and was going around organising, she was also in control of the men and women who were working on the setting up. As well as this the mise en scene suggested the she was in more control as her clothes separated her from the rest of the workers as they are wearing uniform.
Use of Two Shots We felt it was important to use two shots in our piece as we needed to build the intimacy between the characters as well as this it would show the obvious awkwardness of the situation which would help to build the comedy effect of the scenes. A Link To Love Remember Me In our piece we used two shots in the café scene and the pub scene. This helped us to show the intimacy between the characters even though at times it was faked. In Remember Me the vast majority of shots are two shots which helps to establish the link and intimacy between the characters.
