- ClaroNav introduced Navident, a new affordable and practical system for navigated dental implant surgery. Navident uses a CBCT scan as a map to guide surgeons and ensure implants are placed according to the surgical plan.
- Navident simplifies the implant workflow and can complete a guided procedure in one hour for uncomplicated cases. Training is provided to become competent in using the system.
- ClaroNav was satisfied with interest in Navident at the IDS 2015 conference. The system increases accuracy and flexibility compared to static guides.
- ClaroNav aims to continue developing Navident's planning and navigation features to better integrate prosthetics, documentation, and applications for other specialties.

Thumb Tracker - Market Strategy & FindingsNicole Dang
The document summarizes market research on ThumbTracker, a small tracking sticker and app product. Interviews with 12 college students and a survey of 30 people found that while many lose small items regularly, respondents felt the product was only for older users. However, they were interested in the app and wifi capabilities. Based on this, the conclusions recommend focusing on students and working professionals as targets, lowering the price, and emphasizing the app over the USB drive. A marketing plan of commercials, social media, and radio ads is suggested to promote the updated ThumbTracker positioning.

Dentistry in the digital age
Digital dentistry refers to the use of dental technologies or devices to carry out dental procedures rather than using mechanical or electrical tools. The use of digital dentistry can make carrying out dental procedures more efficient than using mechanical tools, both for restorative as diagnostic purposes. 'Godfather' of Digital Dentistry is the French professor François Duret, who invented dental CAD/CAM in 1973.

The document describes a pilot project to evaluate the viability of using digital design and 3D printing to fabricate CBCT/radiographic templates for dental implant planning. Traditional methods for creating these templates require 4 appointments, whereas the digital method developed takes only 3 appointments. Dental casts and rims were digitized to arrange teeth virtually and design the templates. 3D printed templates were then tested on 15 patients and found to reduce appointments for 12 patients, while 3 patients required minor adjustments. The digital method shows potential to improve efficiency but future development is needed to account for dynamic occlusion.
Carolien Creemers and Maarten Bressinck work as functional designers at Nobel Biocare, focusing on user experience and interaction design for digital dental solutions. They discussed challenges with designing medical software due to strict regulations and outlined Nobel Biocare's process, which incorporates agile development methods and user research like field studies and usability testing to ensure safety and meet regulations. They provided examples of their solutions, like using cards to visualize dental lab workflows and mapping surgical cuts onto a digital tool.
The document describes the Encompass system for mandible reconstruction from Biomet. It offers:
1) Patient-matched pre-bent mandible plates created using CT and planning data.
2) 3D printed anatomical models and virtual surgical planning using CT scans.
3) A collaborative design process between surgeons, engineers, and Medical Modeling to create patient-specific solutions.
The document discusses intraoral scanners, their validity and reliability during the pandemic. It notes that intraoral scanners capture precise 3D details of dental impressions digitally, avoiding messy traditional materials. This provides a more convenient experience for patients and clinicians. Studies have found digital impressions to be more accurate than conventional impressions and provide benefits like reduced appointment time and lab costs. Maintaining disinfection of intraoral scanners is important, with tips requiring high-level disinfection between patients according to CDC guidelines. Digital workflows also reduce cross-contamination risks compared to physical impression handling and transportation.
This document discusses digital dentistry and its various applications. It begins by defining digital dentistry broadly as any dental technology that incorporates digital or computer-controlled components. It then describes some major areas of digital dentistry in more detail, including practice and patient record management, digital radiography, cone beam computed tomography, CAD/CAM and intraoral imaging, and lasers. It notes the advantages of digital technologies include improved efficiency, accuracy, and predictability compared to conventional methods. The main limitation is often the upfront cost to adopt new technologies, though return on investment can be high if implemented properly. The document concludes that as digital dentistry becomes more common, dental education must also adapt by exposing future practitioners to these new digital procedures

Dynamic navigation combines the advantages of
performing highly accurate and minimally invasive
