This document summarizes a skills-based volunteering event hosted by Salesforce in partnership with SuitUp and a local NYC school, P.S.M.S 161. Students were divided into teams to design new modes of transportation for Ford, and were coached by Salesforce volunteers. Team 3's "Zap Ford" design won. Surveys found the event boosted students' confidence and career interests, and volunteers saw its impact and want to participate again. The event is an example of how corporate volunteering can open doors and pathways for students.
