Personas
Invisible Citizens (Carla, Mario, Anna, Arturo, Bologna)
The story is narrated in third person, plural. They do this and that.
The tone of the story is gloomy. The coup de theatre sounds like a final ray of light.
Persona and environment: they are precarious workers of the public school. The story
“talks” of them as if they were in a factory, rather than in a school, their “machines” are the
kids they work with. In the finale the “machines” come to life like in Disney's Fantasia, and
they organize a strike together with their pupils.
Zombie Generation (Klaus, Berlin)
The story is narrated in third person, singular. He does this and that.
The tone of the story is frenetic and it's linked to urban lifestyles. The coup de theatre is an
experience the character has into the nature. It sounds puzzling, it changes the rhythm like
a pause, a “non”-end.
Persona and environment: he works as an assistant accountant for an agency that assigns
him on a short notice many jobs with different firms. He's described as keeping calm while
everything around, in the firms he collaborates with, is confused and as he was always lost
in dreaming about having the time to buy a motorcycle and to ride it towards the “mythical”
south. Nonetheless he won't have time to buy it, but will borrow one from a friend. When
he gets to the bayern's hills, he will feel empty, and he will sell the motorbike (which is not
his) in order to start a new life somewhere else.
Militant Optimists (Hugh and Claire, London)
The story is narrated in first person, plural. We do this and that
The tone of the story is anxious. The final is comic.
Persona and environment: They are a couple that want to organize a party for their new
house, they both work in a charity and they talk about the people to invite to the party.
Every one of the “candidates” has his problems, so the couple discusses about guests'
situations, comparing them with their own. Each person can help them in something, so he
should be invited, but some people just shouldn't meet each other because it could be not
convenient...They finally decide not to invite a lot of people that were supposed to be
there, and so spent the party trying to justify themselves for not having invited them...
Lifestyle Hacker (Annechien, Amsterdam)
The story is narrated in first person, singular. I do this and that.
The tone of the story is cold, objective. The final is a decision that the character takes.
Persona and environment: The character works in a grocery store on a part-time basis, but
she's got a Master in Management of Culture. She fantasize about moving to France and
working in the wine industry, but she's worried about the fact that she doesn't understand
anything about wine. At the end she leaves everything and goes to Lorraine.
