The document describes how the author used audio effects tools to manipulate recordings. Specifically, the author used the ReaVocode and Voxengo Boogex effects to make a voice recording deeper and darker. Adjusting the controls on these effects deepened the voice further without distorting the clarity. A second effect was then added that made the audio sound mysterious by introducing echo and fuzz, similar to a degraded radio transmission, and could be suitable for military or sci-fi movies.
This document describes manipulating an audio recording using various effects in a canteen recording software. It explains selecting effects like "time stretcher" and "Dub Delay" from buttons, then editing the applied effects using parameter dials. The effects are color-coded and the user describes combining "Dub Delay" with "ReaNINJAM" to create an interesting slowed down and high pitched mixed sound.

The document describes editing a soundtrack by layering six sound tracks to create a dramatic situation, fading the end of the last clip for a cleaner cut, and using control panels to play, edit, and manipulate the soundtrack by cutting tracks, zooming in and out, and looping playback.
This document analyzes the acoustics of a canteen recording. It notes that most of the materials in the recording space, like wood chairs and floors, absorb sound rather than reflect it. It also explains that background noises from many people talking and moving chairs are louder than the target speaker Sam due to both greater numbers of sound sources and glass surfaces reflecting voices. Movement of chairs also creates loud screeching noises that obscure Sam's speech.
This document describes a sound recording done in a corridor. The corridor has a solid floor that reflects sound, breezeblock walls that absorb sound due to their material, and wooden doors with glass windows that also absorb sound more than the floor or walls. The recording was done to analyze how the different materials in the corridor affect the transmission of sound.
The document provides rental pricing for various audio, video, and lighting equipment for 3 days. An Edirol audio recorder costs £32, Sennheiser headphones cost £9, and a Manfrotto tripod with Sachtler head costs £90 for 3 days. A clapper board can be purchased for £4 on Amazon. Total costs for 3 day rentals are £14.40 for an Azden microphone, £12.60 for a Rode microphone, and £25.20 for a Rode condenser microphone. A camera rents for £360 for 3 days from one company and £126 for 3 days from another company. Various lights and a dimmer would also be rented for three days
This area is being considered for filming because it is a dark wooded area that could portray the forest scenes described in the script. It is also open enough to allow shots to be taken, though many would need to be at night. The location is felt to realistically portray an area similar to that described in the script.
The first filming location is a big field near the college with trees and a pond that will provide scenic outdoor shots. The second location is a long narrow pathway from the college that will be suitable for walking scenes as it is private and surrounded by trees and fields.

The document summarizes potential hazards and risk controls for an upcoming film production. It identifies uneven ground, weather changes, slippery surfaces, and trip hazards as risks present in most scenes. The cast and crew as well as production equipment and props could be harmed. Controls already in place include appropriate footwear and checking weather reports. Further actions like double checking forecasts and limiting people on set are recommended to reduce risks assessed as high or moderate.
This document summarizes potential film locations near Rutland Road and Stableford Ave, including a grassy area with trees next to a college that could represent a rural setting if filmed correctly, and a tree-covered pathway off Stableford Ave with fallen trees and hills but high public usage. It also mentions filming Charlie's house both inside and outside at one of the locations.
The document contains feedback from multiple evaluations of a group's presentation. The feedback indicates that the group communicated their pitch clearly but could improve their confidence. It also suggests adding a dramatic twist to their film idea to make it more exciting. Overall, the feedback shows the group needs to address their audience more directly through better eye contact and body language to appear more confident.

Script Development & The Commissioning ProcessIrrealimagensuk
The document discusses various aspects of writing short film scripts, including:
- Short films can range from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, but festivals generally prefer under 10 minutes to keep costs lower.
- Short film scripts require getting to the core of the story quickly without unnecessary details. They must move fast while maintaining polish.
- Effective short films often focus on a single main character and explore their internal conflict visually rather than through exposition.
- Writers should stick to only what's needed for the story and not direct the audience. Format is also important for readability. Overall the document provides advice on crafting short film scripts.

Enabling Digital Sustainability by Jutta EcksteinJutta Eckstein
This is a New Zealand wide meetup event with meetup groups from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch attending and open to anyone with an interest in digital sustainability or agile. All welcome. Joke, this is how it started. Jutta is now also available in Germany, i.e. hosted by Berlin/Brandenburg
According to the World Economic Forum, digital technologies can help reduce global carbon emissions by up to 15%. However, digitalization also comes with some challenges. Thus, if we want to make a positive impact by increasing sustainability, we need to address challenges like the digital divide, energy consumption of IT, or the rise of electronic waste. In this talk, I want to explore how Agile can help to leverage Digital Sustainability.

IG2 Assignment Brief
1. Assignment brief
Qualification Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production
Unit 1: Pre Production Techniques for the Creative Media Industries
Unit number and title Unit 17: Audio Production Processes and Techniques (partial)
Unit 24: Writing for Television and Video (partial)
Start date 31/01/2012
Deadline 16/03/2012
Assessor name Iain Goodyear
Assignment title IG2 - Short Film Pre-Production
The purpose of this assignment is to:
Enhance your organisational skills by planning the production of your short film.
Demonstrate the importance of sound in film production, looking specifically at how room acoustics can
change the nature of a recording.
Develop your ability to edit sound bytes using a variety of effects manipulation techniques.
Scenario
Your team has secured funding and received the go-ahead for your short film, based on the theme Going
on a Journey, which will be entered for the Exposures Film Festival.
All media productions need planning. This process is referred to as pre-production. Pre-production is
essential when realising your product and helps media producers to visualise and develop initial ideas. Pre-
production is much more than simply writing a script and storyboarding and requires both a methodical
and creative approach to planning tasks. Communication is essential when planning a production and you
will need to ensure that your production team meets regularly to provide updates on pre-production tasks
that are completed and outstanding. As part of your pre-production evidence, you must keep a record of
meetings that take place and any decisions made and agreed on by your production team.
In the production teams you were placed in for your last assignment, you have already produced individual
proposals, treatments and draft scripts. As a production team you have also decided on which proposal and
script draft you will further develop and plan. Further development of your chosen script will be decided
through regular production team meetings.
For this assignment you must research and assign production roles and produce pre-production
documentation. You will be required to develop your chosen script, producing several draft scripts and a
final draft. Your group must also produce detailed storyboards and production planning documentation in
preparation for the production phase of your short film.
An aspect of film production that is often over looked is sound recording. In preparation for the production
phase of your short film you will explore through demonstration and practical activity the nature of sound
acoustics and how this can affect the quality of your sound recording.
Good luck!
