This customer experienced issues logging into their ICICI Bank internet banking account, with their login being repeatedly blocked. When they contacted customer support, representatives blamed the customer and claimed the password was incorrect, despite the customer logging in successfully multiple times. The bank also failed to help resolve the issue, did not send a representative to collect error screenshots as promised, and continued to contact the customer demanding information that had already been provided. After over a month, the problem remained unresolved, causing the customer financial and personal inconvenience. The customer is sharing their experience to warn others and empower banking customers.

2. The Problem
 My internet banking service was stopped (system
identified that ID/Password was wrong) on around
28th december.
 I called up the customer care and they harassed
me - saying that I forgot my password. Then they
reset my account and I was able to login with the
same set of ID and Password.
 Still the customer care executive was not satisfied
 I logged in and out atleast 3 times to make him
believe that I remember my ID and Password
correctly and the executive accepted this fact
 Thereafter, system again identified my login as
invalid and blocked my account

3. How ICICI blames customers
 Bank requested for the screen shot of error
message, which I duly compiled and sent across.
But the mail to designated email ID of ICICI bank
got bounced.
 I informed the customer car executive of the
same, but they kept writing emails that "please
send the screenshot". This caused me a lot of
mental agony.
 Then the bank executive said that size of
attached file cannot me more than 1 MB,
 I compressed the file and made it 0.9 MB. Still the
mail is getting bounced.
 What can a common customer do????????

4. Shameless act of ICICI services
 Further, the bank promised to send an executive
to my place to collect the error message.
 That person just harassed me over telephone and
I received email from ICICI asking for my current
address.
 Please note that, even after sending the address
4 times to all the concerned addresses (on email)
I have been repeatedly asked to send my current
address.
 And these frivolous emails came from same email
ID to which I sent my current address.
 Hope you understand the kind of stress they put
you through to ensure that you give up

5. The outcome
 It has been more than a month since I have not
availed internet banking services and it has
caused me lots of inconvenience
 I have incurred unwanted transaction cost to do
the fund transfers.
 There has been frivolous phone calls and emails
from ICICI bank which has caused me a lot of
inconvenience.
 It has already been more than 40 days but there
is no help from ICICI side

6. Experience with Customer care
officer
 I had telcon with senior customer care executive
of ICICI, they raised following doubt to discourage
me
 Are you sure that your computer keyboard works
well?
 Are you sure your system is virus free?
 Do you know how to compress a file? Do you
understand the meaning of file size<1MB?
Are you sure that you had attached the file while
replying?
This happened despite me telling them that I
have been doing internet banking since last

 I urge all of you who read this email to spread
the word, you might be a victim too….
 …..if not by ICICI then by some other bank….
