Delays on the Tarmac Continental Airlines flight 2816 left H.pdfrazak7861
Delays on the Tarmac Continental Airlines flight 2816 left Houston, Texas at 9:23 P.M. on a Friday
evening bound for Minneapolis/St. Paul. Due to thunderstorms in that area, the plane was tion. It
landed there at 12:28 A.M. Saturday, and was southenst of the original destinnthe terminal
building, for nearly six hours before thept on the ground, 50 yards from off the plane and go inside
the terminal at 6:30 that passengers were allowed to get 2009,p,3A). The aircraft was a small jet
with 50 seats. It was crowded with 49 passengers and two babies who had to be held because
there were not enough seats. As might be expected. conditions rapidly deteriorated. The babies
and younger children cried, the toilet overflowed, the air became stagnant and smelly, and the
adults grew first concemed, then frustrated and finally outraged-all without result. One passenger,
a professor at a law school in St. Paul, described his reaction: "You're numb throughout the
experience, and you almost don't know what's happening to you" (Ibid., p. 3A). A spokeswoman
for Express Jet, which operated the airplane under contrnct for Continental, later explained that
due to the very late arrival, the airport did not have cnough people on duty to allow the passengers
to deplane safely and get to the nearby building. The airport manager, however, disputed that. He
said that the personnel at Rochester were experienced at handling diverted flights and that an
adequate staff was present to readily transfer the passengers. The spokeswoman for Express Jet
also said that the passengers were encouraged to get off the plane and go into the airport as soon
as government security personnel reported for duty at 6:00 A.M. But the airport manager also
disputed that statement. He explained that the government security officials had actually arrived at
4:30A.M., but that their arrival time was irrelevant. The passengers, he continued, could have
been kept within the protected area of the terminal, where restrooms, vending machines, and
comfortable seats were readily available, so that further security processing would not have been
needed. A spokeswoman for Continental Airlines, which had contracted for the Express Jet flight,
later explained that her airline had a policy to let passengers off flights after a three-hour delay,
and that what had happened was unacceptable. Continental, she continued, would offer all
passengers a refund for their tickets and a certificate for future flights. Delays on airport tarmacs,
with the passengers confined to their planes, are not all that unusual. The USA Today news story
that serves as the basis for this case claimed that over the nine-month period from October 2008
to June 2009 , there had been 686 delays of three to four hours, 156 of four to six hours, and 13 of
more than six hours for a total of 855 delays. The New York Times, in a follow up story dated
August 14, 2009, explained that legislation requiring airlines to return passengers to the gate af.
Part 1 Magnetic Anomalies The objective of this lab is to i.pdfrazak7861
Part 1: Magnetic Anomalies The objective of this lab is to introduce the concepts of Plate
Tectonics and how the plates move and interact with one another. One of the main things that will
be explored is the interactions at plate boundaries. Velocity is defined as the ratio of distance over
time. Mathematically: V=td Velocity is a vector, which has both direction and magnitude, meaning
that when we are exploring the velocities of these tectonic plates, we will look at both how fast the
plates are moving as well as which directions the plates move. To determine the velocities of
moving plates, we need two pieces of information: distance and time. Fortunately, volcanic rocks
can give us information about when they were created in the magnetic orientation of magnetite
crystals. These crystals align themselves with Earth's magnetic field, which will periodically switch
its polarity. We can use this information to help determine the time component of the velocity. Use
the map of Geoworld to answer the following questions. Step 1: Locate the mid-ocean ridge. The
magnetic anomalies will form a symmetric pattern moving away from the mid-ocean ridge.
Highlight the length of the ridge and label it "Hobbit Ridge", Step 2: Determine the relative rate of
movement of the spreading of the Elrond Sea. Use the scale on the map for the distance and the
ages of the magnetic reversals for the time. First determine the half spreading rate: the rate that
the continents are moving from the ridge. Then determine the full spreading rate: the rate that the
continents are moving from each other. Give your answer in mm/yr. Half Spreading Rate: Full

The document discusses the discount factor and net present value (NPV) formulas. The discount factor formula is shown as 1+k1, where k1 is the discount rate. The NPV formula is given as NPV=C0+t=1r(1+k1)C1, where C0 is the initial cash flow, r is the number of periods, C1 is the cash flow in period 1.

Hiring retaining and cultivating talent are critical activ.pdfrazak7861
Hiring, retaining, and cultivating talent are critical activities at Deloitte, the worlds largest
professional services firm. By offering robust learning and development programs, Deloitte has
been able to create a strong talent pipeline to the firms partnership. Deloittes emphasis on
learning and development, across all stages of the employee life cycle, has led to recognitions
such as being ranked number-one on Chief Executivess list of Best Private Companies for
Leaders and being listed among Fortunes 100 Best Companies to Work For. The following
programs contribute to Deloittes successful execution of its talent strategy:
Clear path to partnership. During the initial recruiting phase and then throughout an employees
tenure at the firm, Deloitte lays out a clear career path. The path indicates the expected timeline
for promotion to each of the firms hierarchy levels, along with the competencies and experience
required. Deloittes transparency on career paths, coupled with its in-depth performance
management process, helps employees clearly understand their performance. This serves as a
motivational tool for top performers, often leading to career acceleration.
Formal training programs. Like other leading organizations, Deloitte has a program to ensure that
recent college graduates are equipped with the necessary training and tools for succeeding on the
job. Yet Deloittes commitment to formal training is evident at all levels within the organization.
Each time an employee is promoted, he or she attends milestone school, a weeklong simulation
that replicates true business situations employees would face as they transition to new stages of
career development. In addition, Deloitte institutes mandatory training hours for all of its
employees to ensure that individuals continue to further their professional development.
Special programs for high performers. Deloitte also offers fellowships and programs to help
employees acquire new skills and enhance their leadership development. For example, the Global
Fellows program helps top performers work with senior leaders in the organization to focus on the
realities of delivering client service across borders. Deloitte has also established the Emerging
Leaders Development program, which utilizes skill building, 360-degree feedback, and one-on-one
executive coaching to help top-performing managers and senior managers prepare for
partnership.
Sponsorship, not mentorship. To train the next generation of leaders, Deloitte has implemented
formal mentorship programs to provide leadership development support. Deloitte, however, uses
the term sponsorship to describe this initiative. A sponsor is tasked with taking a vested interest in
an individual and advocating on his or her behalf. Sponsors help rising leaders navigate the firm,
develop new competencies, expand their network, and hone the skills needed to accelerate their
career.

Allison Boone had been practicing medicine for seven years .pdfrazak7861
Allison Boone had been practicing medicine for seven years. Her specialty was neurology. She
had received her bachelors degree in chemistry from Kent State University and her M.D. from
Washington University in St. Louis. She did her residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in
New York. Allison practiced neurology in a clinic with three other doctors in Hurst, Texas.
Her husband, Samuel L. Boone, held an administrative position for Harris Methodist HMO in
Arlington, Texas. Allison and Samuel had been married for five years and were parents of young
twin sons, Todd and Trey. They lived in Arlington in a beautiful four-room house overlooking Lake
Arlington.
Allison normally left for work at 7:30 a.m. and closed her office at 5:30 p.m. to return home. On
Tuesday, March 6th, 2016 at 5:15 p.m., she received an emergency call from Arlington General
Hospital and immediately went to the hospital to help a patient who had suffered serious brain
damage. By the time she had administered aid and helped prepare the patient for surgery it was
11:00 p.m.
On her way home as she passed the Ballpark in Arlington (home of the Texas Rangers baseball
team), she was confronted head on by a drunken driver going over 80 miles an hour. A crash was
inevitable and Allison and the other driver were killed instantly. The drunken driver was making a
late delivery for Wayland Frozen Foods, Inc.
Legal Considerations-
The families of both drivers were devastated by the news of the accident. After the funeral and
explaining the situation to the children, Samuel Boone knew he must seek legal redress for his
familys enormous loss. Following interviews with a number of lawyers, he decided to hire Sloan
Whitaker.
Sloan was with a Dallas law firm (Hanson, Sloan, and Thomason) that specialized in plaintiffs
lawsuits. He had been in practice for over 20 years since graduating from Southern Methodist
University (SMU) law school in 1996.
When Sloan began his investigation on behalf of Samuel Boone and his family, he was surprised
to find out the driver of the delivery vehicle had a prior record of alcohol abuse and that Wayland
Frozen Foods, Inc. had knowledge of the problem when they hired him. It appears the driver was a
relative of the owner and at the time of employment he revealed what he termed a past alcoholic
problem that was now under control. In any event, he was acting as an employee for Wayland
Frozen Foods in using their truck to make a business related delivery at the time of the accident.
The fact that he was speeding and intoxicated at the time of the impact only increased the legal
exposure for Wayland Frozen Foods.
After much negotiating with the law firm that represented Wayland Frozen Foods (and its
insurance company), Sloan Whitaker received three proposals for an out-of-court settlement to be
paid to Allison Boones family. The intent of the proposals was to replace the future earnings power
of Allison Boone, less any of the earnings she would have personally ne.

a professor at a law school in St.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
