1) Email is the most widely used digital marketing channel, with more daily emails sent than all Facebook posts combined.
2) Email marketing provides an excellent return on investment, with returns estimated at 4,300% and email recipients spending 83% more when shopping.
3) Unlike social media, email is an owned marketing channel that marketers have direct control over, allowing them to boost traffic, re-engage past customers, and target messaging.
Theme Unit Tests provide sample content that can be imported into a WordPress site via an XML file or plugin. This allows developers to test that their theme styles are properly applied to different types of default WordPress content like posts, pages, images and embeds. Using Theme Unit Tests saves time by allowing developers to test styles early in the development process and ensure their themes support core WordPress features before releasing. The document also lists several plugins that can be used to generate sample content for testing themes.
Plugins add features and functions to WordPress websites. Plugins provide flexibility and extensibility by adding things like contact forms, lightboxes, sliders, and backup capabilities. Widgets are sections of content or navigation that can be placed in sidebars or footers, and some widgets are provided by plugins. While plugins add functionality, they can potentially slow down a site if too many are used, and may require updates to remain compatible. The document provides examples of specific plugins like Exifography, Taxonomy Converter, Post Table of Contents, and Recipe Markup.
Post formats allow designers to designate different content types like images, galleries, links, and statuses. Themes need to support post formats for them to be useful. To use post formats, find a theme that displays the different formats well or modify a theme to do so. Key steps are testing themes to see how they handle various post formats and creating template files and CSS styles to customize display if needed.
WordPress is a free and open-source content management system that allows users to build beautiful websites and blogs. It has a large community of users, contributors, and developers who create themes and plugins to extend its functionality. To use WordPress, you need a domain name, web hosting with PHP and MySQL support, and to install WordPress files either through an automatic installer or manually by uploading and configuring files and databases. Popular plugins add features like contact forms, social sharing buttons, image galleries, backups, and performance optimizations.

Digital Banking in the Cloud: How Citizens Bank Unlocked Their MainframePrecisely
Inconsistent user experience and siloed data, high costs, and changing customer expectations – Citizens Bank was experiencing these challenges while it was attempting to deliver a superior digital banking experience for its clients. Its core banking applications run on the mainframe and Citizens was using legacy utilities to get the critical mainframe data to feed customer-facing channels, like call centers, web, and mobile. Ultimately, this led to higher operating costs (MIPS), delayed response times, and longer time to market.
Ever-changing customer expectations demand more modern digital experiences, and the bank needed to find a solution that could provide real-time data to its customer channels with low latency and operating costs. Join this session to learn how Citizens is leveraging Precisely to replicate mainframe data to its customer channels and deliver on their “modern digital bank” experiences.
