IFTTT (If This Then That) is a free web-based service and mobile app that allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called recipes. Recipes connect different web services and apps so that completing simple tasks in one triggers an action in another. For example, a user could create a recipe stating that every time they post a photo to Instagram, it is automatically saved to their Google Drive. IFTTT was created in 2010 and allows users significant automation capabilities across many of their online accounts and smart devices.
Build progressive web apps with AngularSimona Cotin
Progressive web apps (PWA) are becoming an industry standard for building web applications. With reliability, speed and immersive user experience in mind, PWAs help you reach a broader audience. In this session we will take an existing web app and convert it into a PWA. First, we'll make our application installable to homescreen by adding a Web App Manifest json file. Next, we'll focus on making our app reliable by enabling service workers inside our application and caching resources. Throughout this session we'll also learn how to use Lighthouse to test the performance of our PWA.
"We have been on many talks about the (not so) new software design approach which is - ""Microservices"".
Having organized few Microservice Hackathons (both public and internal) and developing applications for the last 7 months using that approach, we would like to show you what are the BUTs of the idea. Rarely can you hear about the chalenges and issues related to this architectural approach and we’ll tell nothing but the truth about it. Also we’ll show how you can quickly start creating your own apps using the tools we have created at 4finance / SoftwareMill.
Just a glimpse of what will you see in action: zookeeper for service discovery; Kibana / Graphana for monitoring; client code in Java and Groovy; Ansible for provisioning. And the best part is that everything is opensourced and ready to use.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
