How to overcome objections
in your online business
By nuyouuk on April 6th, 2014
One thing is for sure, if you’re in network marketing or any
type of online business you will face objections.
Objections are a natural part of what we do. What you need to
do is learn the skills to overcome them and get your prospects
closer to joining your opportunity that you have to offer.
People will not join your opportunity for two main reasons.
1. Out of fear of failure or lack of belief in themselves.
2. Because they think it’s some sort of scam/ pyramid scheme.
End of.
Those will always be the main two reasons people won’t join
or will object.
Fear of failure/ No self belief.
Fear is a biggy! I would say 90% of the people you will speak
to will have fear of failure/ lack of self belief. You will hear
common phrases like,
” But I just don’t think I can do this “
” What if I can’t do it? “
” I don’t think I’ve got enough time “
It’s a scam /pyramid scheme.
If you’re in the online business, network marketing, home
based business arena, prepare to hear this OVER and OVER
again. If you can wrap your head around the fact that you are
GOING to get asked this question ALL THE TIME, you will be
prepared when you get this objection.
A big reason why people think it’s a scam, is because they’ve
either tried something similar in the past and it never worked,
or it’s because they know someone who has tried it and it failed
for them too.
How do you overcome these objections?
1 word
EMPATHY
You empathise with the person.
You DO NOT get your back up and challenge their objection.
The chances are you were in one of the 2 brackets above before
you joined. You either had the fear of failure or you thought it
was a scam.
So you empathise with them and tell your story.
” Yes, that’s exactly how I felt at the beginning before I joined,
I thought to myself, this is far too good to be true, but I’m so
glad I joined as I’ve never looked back.”
Bingo. That’s how you overcome that objection. It’s the
TRUTH!
If they fall under the other bracket, chances are you know
someone else in your team or company that had the same
objection and you use their story instead.
“Yes, x person, also thought the same before they joined,
they thought it was a scam too, but they trusted their friends
judgement and are so glad they joined now as they’re earning
every week and it’s changed their lives.”
You get the picture.
So the next time you get an objection, don’t get all defensive.
Empathise.
