Knowledge exchange session“How to get the full-text?”
Discussing alternative ways to get the pdf of a scientific publication, but NOT using the library’s services or tools, is a
good example of the proverbial “Elephant in the room” We knów our users switch to alternative routes, when we
(the library) can not deliver. And we have a tendency to look away, not discussing them.
How many ways are there, and how do they work? And which tools do we offer as a library to our users?

3 goals
1. Overview of tools and services by the library related to
the access to full-text
• Informing the public (and library staff) & giving advice by the
library
2. Overview of freely available tools and resources
(sometimes with the use of library data)
3. New products and resources that could improve
library services?
(DDS/ILL, discovery, open access, databases, analytics, …)
