The world of usability of many voice applications is more like an old scratchy wool sweater. But it doesn't have to, if you follow a few rules, of which I send 6 to the social networks. 
 Die Welt der Usability vieler Voice Applications ist wohl am Ehesten mit der 90er OB Werbung zu vergleichen…einer Welt voller Missverständnisse und meistens kratzen sie eher wie ein alter Wollpullover. Dabei muss es das garnicht, wenn man ein Paar Regeln einhält, von denen ich 6 in die sozialen Netzwerke schicke.

Rules are not set in stone. They

evolution of needs. Ask yourself
always why do you do what you
do. Don’t take for granted
decisions that others did years
ago.

Solve A Problem
Nothing is more annoying, than to
ask for a connection of public
transport your voice assistant,
without beeing able to book a
ticket afterwards. A voice app
should have a reason. Without a
reason noone will use it.

Don’t create a new world. A voice
app is rooted from a mobile app. If
the user feels that, he will not have
problems anymore by navigating
through your voice app.

Keep The Commands
Clear
Keep your commands simple and
don’t overload the user with too
much content. When the voice
assistant is done with its response
the user should still remember
what to say.

Find The Right Tone Of
Voice
Does the voice assistant is speaking
too much or too less? Does it has the
right language to its usecase and
persona. Nothing is more awkward
than an Alexa, that tries to be funny
with its artificial voice.

Listen To Your Prototype
Listen to your prototype as early
as possible. Designing means to
be able to listen to your gut as to
your brain. Just by listening to
your product you will be able to
improve it.
