My presentation to the Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery at the opening of their special climate exhibition, January 2020.
A powerful set of slides that use art to deliver three key messages:
(1) the climate crisis is very real,

Technological advancements in blockchain and cryptocurrencies have shown great promise for the possibilities in many sectors, but is it possible for energy-consuming technology to coexist, even further thrive with nature? We believe it can. More so, can these technologies enable us to push beyond sustainability to regeneration and to foster the growth of a more beautiful planet?
This talk was originally given by Amy Slawson of cLabs at the Ready Layer One Conference on May 5, 2020.
Apart from having great content and substance in your presentations, it is also important to design your slides well in order to capture the attention of your audience. Hope these tips helps, thanks! :D

What is more valuable than Oil?
Yet is over 1000% Cheaper!
What could possibly be more valuable than oil right now?
I'll give you a hint: It is the largest natural energy resource on the planet, has no carbon content, it is of unlimited supply source of hydrogen- the same element that power our sun and here on earth kg/lb to kg/lb packs more energy than oil, coal and natural gas combined and burns 100% clean without any emissions. Still don’t know… it is our everyday ‘WATER’ …read on…
Your data is your data and it's supposed to stay this way.
Our lives are fully exposed on the Internet, with just a few clicks, anybody can find out where you live, when were you last in a holiday, what you ate, or even the conversations you had over lunch.
But what about your personal email and passwords? Aren’t they secured by the internet giants?
Sometimes they are, but if you use the same email and password for multiple sites, if one of them is hacked then all your other accounts are compromised.
Of course, you have nothing to hide, but knowing that a complete stranger is browsing through your data or uses your identity can be traumatizing.
ALTER EGO's mission is to protect your privacy with just a push of a button, so you can browse safely.
To help you to change the world, we need a systematic approach on the way we see things.
We need to become perspective specialists, because perspective changes everything.

Thriving in a world of change: Future-friendly content with DrupalKaren McGrane
There's always another redesign. There's always another new must-have front-end design effect. There's always another platform, a new screen resolution, the latest device. Underneath it all, there's content. What if we could get away from the cyclical churn, the constant reinvention? What if we could stop throwing the baby out with the bathwater? Instead of trying to get all new content every time there's a redesign (or worse, shoving crappy old content into stylish new clothes) it's time to plan for the future.
In this session, Karen will explain how Drupal is the future of adaptive content. She's not saying that like she's some kind of Drupal fangirl (though she is.) She's saying that as a long-time information architect, content strategist, and user experience designer, who sees content through the eyes of the people who create it and maintain it. She'll explain why—from her perspective—Drupal's content modeling tools and flexible UI make it a powerful tool in our fight against the future.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Hey there, my name is Joshua Foss and thanks for tuning into my seminar.
I run a business called Thrive Design Studio out of Minneapolis… also very active with the US Green Building Council… have a blog at Metrohippie.com covering all sorts of sustainable ideas. I was on the second season of HGTV’s Design Star and hosted my own series on HGTV.com called Get Green… finally, track me down on Twitter.com/JoshuaFoss
Green is pretty much everywhere… very exciting times we live in! We’re beginning to recognize that our lifestyles, particularly here in America, are not built to last…Green is about finding ways to make better decisions that include our future needs as much as our current needs.
Environmental movement really got its legs when Apollo 8 took this photo, the first ever of our planet from outer space… it made us realize that our home is quite fragile and that our choices in one part of the world can affect people in another part… recognized that we are very interconnected.
Plastics are of particular concern… every bit of plastic that has ever been created is still in the environment today… it doesn’t break down naturally. We are producing so much petroleum based plastics today, yet have no idea how to deal with it tomorrow…
And when we throw stuff away, we often don’t know where ‘away’ is… surprisingly, not many know about the islands of garbage in our oceans… the great pacific patch is the largest with some saying it’s as big as the lower 48 states!
Cradle to cradle is an incredible idea that virtually eliminates the waste stream… everything that we make should accomplish one of two things: Be forever recyclable… have the chemical integrity to be used over and over again, indefinitely… 2. Be biodegradable… become food for the soil and reenter the natural system.
36 out of 50 states will face water shortages within the next 5 years.
The average piece of food travels 1500 miles here in America... Very inefficient.
Meat is extremely inefficient way to gain nutrition… takes 10 times the energy and resources to create meat vs. eating plants… Cows also create a huge amount of methane and contribute to deforestation, rapidly accelerating climate change.
20 million Americans currently have asthma.
100,000 synthetic chemicals in commerce today, only a handful have been tested.
I’ve discovered that how we treat the planet directly correlates to how we treat our bodies… food is great example. Pesticides are placed on crops, and we end up ingesting them, bad for global health and personal health.
In our current model, we place value on the things we extract from nature. If you harvest a tree, or pump a barrel of oil out of the ground, you can sell those commodities and use them in an industrial process…. Well, we can’t cut all the trees down, or pump all of the oil out of the ground (even though some people wouldn’t be opposed to that!)… we need a system that creates more value for preserving nature’s services than for degrading it… An ecosystem is worth 82% more, on average, than the same parcel clear-cut, drained, paved, or developed in an unsustainable way. All told nature’s services have been valued at $33 trillion a year. Global gross national product total is around US$18 trillion per year. *wall street journal
We need to realize that it’s not like we’re on the Titanic and we have to avoid the iceberg… we’ve already hit the iceberg and the water is rushing in below… many of us are refusing to leave the buffet and dance floor…
Can be very overwhelming to think about everything that is happening today… it’s easy to say, what difference does it make, I’m only one person! But one person as a change agent can alter the world with the right tools and ideas.
About 1 in 5 Americans can be classified as living LOHAS…
Check out the GoodGuide… database of 50,000 products that have been tested for environmental, social and health scores… new iPhone app lets you scan products with its phone and gives you instant score… incredibly powerful tool for shopper who wants to support businesses that are doing their part to create a better world.
All of these issues are incredibly interconnected and collectively we have an amazing opportunity in front of us… never before has a single generation had the opportunity to change the world for the better… the tools and information are in place, all we need is collective willpower.
