2. INTRODUCTION
1. In all life issues before one can handle or solve any problem. There
would be the need to have a fair knowledge about the issue or the matter.
2. It is therefore imperative to really know and understand what APOSTASY
REALLY IS?
3. APOSTASY DEFINED:
i. The term “APOSTASY” as we are going to discuss today comes from the
Greek word “apostasia” which simply means REVOLT, REBELLION, or
DEPARTURE.
ii. In terms of religion, apostasy is the abandonment of , or a willful falling
away from the faith or truth.

a. An Act of refusing to continue to follow, obey or recognize a
religious faith.
b. An abandonment of a previous loyalty.

The Bible and only the Bible must be our sole guide when it comes to
Spiritual Authority:
*Reason being that ……
i. THE BIBLE IS INSPIRED WORD OF GOD AND BY GOD.
A. It is only the word of God that give us the direction. It is
Authoritative and powerful. Isaiah 55:10, Luke 1:37,
Hebrews 4:12,13
B. Only the spirit of God can reveal the mind of God. I Cor.2:11-13,
Luke 12:11,12, I Peter 1:10,11, II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:16-17.
*Prophecy was to be done away with. I Cor. 13:8
* James 1:25*

5. SOME CAUSES OF APOSTASY
CHECK THIS OUR STANDARD
1. Not by our understanding. Proverbs 3:5,6
2. Not what “seems right”. Proverbs 14:12, 16:25.
3. Not by our own feelings. Jeremiah 10:23
4. Not what angels says. Galatians 1:8-9.
5. Not by our conscience. Romans 2:15, Acts 23:1
II. THE BIBLE IS THEREFFORE ENOUGH TO SATISFY ALL SPIRITUAL NEEDS.
1. It is sufficient to teach All men how to live. Titus 2:11-12
2. The Bible is enough for our good works. II Timothy 3:16-17
3. The Bible is enough to give us all that pertains to life and
godliness. II Peter 1:3-4
4. It is enough to guide us to all our NEEDS. Matthew 6:33

6. HOW CAN WE PREVENT APOSTASY
1. By studying and rightly dividing the word of truth. II Timothy 2:15
2. By proving all things with the word of God. I Thessalonians 5:21
3. By sticking strictly to what the Bible says. Deuteronomy 4:1-2,
Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 12:18-20
4. This will surely cause the truth to set us free. John 8:31-32
*Remember, that Apostasy is real and it did even happened and started in the
garden of Eden in Adam’s era. Genesis 3:3-4.
And the caution was thrown into the wind in the Old Testament Deuteronomy
31:19-20, Acts 20:28-31 in the New Testament and God and that matter the
Holy Spirit gave its descriptive nature. I Timothy 4;1-3.

7. CONCLUSION
Only stick to the truth as revealed in Hebrews 1:1-2 and it shall be well with
your soul in Jesus Name.
