4. Steps of investigation First we took a shoebox and filled it with dirt. Then we covered the shoebox with colorless food wrap. Then we put one thermometer in the box and one out of the box. We started a timer and waited. Then we checked the temperatures at the end and wrote them down.
5. Results for First Experiment Heat source: Hot light Our Starting temperature for both of the thermometers was 15° C. The end temperature for the one inside the box was 24° C and the one out of the box was 22° C. The difference was 2° C.

10. Related Topics The greenhouse affect happens when there are greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses are gasses that take in a little of the inferred radiation the earth gives off and warms the surrounding air. The inferred radiation comes from the sun. Life would not happen without the greenhouse effect. For example, the moon gets a lot cooler than any place on the earth ( -280°) and warmer (260°).
11. Related Topics (continued) The greenhouse effect is also a problem. Some scientists think that there are too many greenhouse gasses being emitted in to the atmosphere and that they causing global warming. Global warming is when the greenhouse effect heats up the world more than it is supposed to.
