The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation plans to use automated driverless trains built by AnsaldoBreda and Ansaldo STS, featuring a length of 20m, width of 3m, and height of 4.1m, with a top speed of 65mph. The heavy rail system will be powered by a third electrified rail, using a shoe for electricity collection, and each car will accommodate 159 standing passengers and 36 seats, equipped with wheelchair spaces and multiple doors. The trains are expected to be powered by four motors totaling around 680hp, similar in size and layout to the Keikyu Series 600 trains.
