In this school every individual is important. Their needs are
heard and achievement is not based on a scale that others
create, but the progress of the individual and the campus as a

Classroom max size is 20- this allows for
easier movement and changing the
arrangement of furniture as needed.
Classrooms are larger to accomadate
movement of students, furniture and
equipment.
Furniture can be moved around easliy.
Sped and Gen Ed are mixed for inclusive
classrooms. Students labled accelerated
are also in these classrooms to assist as
peer tutors.
Teacher-student ratio is small to allow
for more individualized insrtuction. Gives
teachers the ability to work in small
groups and allow the oppurtunity for one
on one time.
Sped teacher is included in the layout of
the classroom. Teachers work together
to design the space for the acitivity or
lessons to allow for access for all
students.

Teachers will have planning times dedicated
to allowing them the oppurtunity to go
through curriculum and adjust it to the
needs of their individual students. (3 times
per week)
Team planning will be used to assist
teachers with questions about curriculum
and learn different strategies used by fellow
educators (2 times per week)
All students will have their own laptop.
Every classroom will be equipped with
technology to allow for instruction to be
presented in different ways.
Storage closets in the classroom will have
different manipulatives, resources and
supplies to allow for the individualization of
activities and assignments.
Schedules will have built in small group time
to allow for more one on one instruction.
Technology in the classroom
Students will have their own laptop (provided by the district)
Each classroom will have 6 Ipads
Each classroom will have a promethan board and an interactive whiteboard
Each classroom will have 2 student desktops
All teachers will have access to Speros, Strawbees, 3D pens , video cameras,
tripods and other Maker Space/tech resources that they can check out to
enchance lessons. These items can also be checked out to hel students with
assignments or projects.
6. Holloway Middle School
Curriculum & Assessment
Teachers will follow the curriculum
that has been approved by the school
district.
Teachers will have the flexibilty to
adjust the curriculum to the needs of
their students. If teachers feel they
need to slow down or place emphasis
on establishing background
knowledge, they will have the
freedom to do so.
State assessements will not take
priority over the needs of the student.
Educators will be there to help the
student progress and grow. To
achieve better than they did the year
before, even if that means they don't
meet the standard. Holloway MS is
about growth of the student and not
meeting standards that aren't meant
for all students and their needs.
Teachers will have the flexibility
to adjust the approved curriculum
to meet the needs of their
students.
Co Teachers will have access to
the curriculum to assist with the
needs of students on their case
load.
Administration and instructional
coaches will support teachers on
their path to create a classroom
where all students' needs are met.
TEKS will be followed.
Teachers will have the freedom to
adjust the curriculum calendar for
their students by one or two days.
This will give the teacher the time
needed to ensure all students
understand the content.
Formal and informal assessments
will be given.
Assessments can be formulated
to meet the individual needs of
students as long as the same
content is being assessed.
Teachers and co teachers will
work together to ensure that
guidelines and goals of a
students IEP are being met.
