For our personal future we hope to study in College and for our local area, country and planet we are looking forward to live in a more human World without violence and pollution.
The research done by the artist Luke James during his residence in Homesession are small actions and poetic accidents to the materiality and alteration of the given space. This meeting and its appropriation allow us to perceive a series of (in)visible physical changes and somehow get into the layers of the time-space surface. The micro gestures that the artist proposes stem from everyday thoughts, deconstructing an object, knowing its compounds, drawing the structure and seeing the gaps that inhabit the walls.
The relationship that the artist has proposed with the architecture of the place, arose from observation and direct work on things and the matter that composes them. Inhabiting the residence and understanding Homesession as a white cube, but with its own previous narrative, that can be opened and explored. The gesture of breaking, burning, filling and emptying allows the opening of a wall and seeing what circulates inside it. He meet with new paint layers and unknown spaces, which in his opinion, are brief moments between him and that space which is his own for a certain period of time. The home studio thought from an almost sacred laboratory and with the possibility of being perverted. The city moving outside and all its politics are reminders of experimental micro-actions within which each of these stories are developed.

Octobre 2014
TV Pirata is a fiction made during a residence in Barcelona.
It is the continuation of Winter is coming movie: Following the suicide of a young French group, a Spanish journalist takes the live speech to try to understand, and goes to meet the leaders of the similar movement in Spain.
Winter is coming, In a near future, a group of young people are arrested for having committed a collective crime against the system. They are incarcerated in a house in the countryside and placed under video surveillance 24/7. They will have to confess in a confessional, similar to those used in reality shows. We will never know what they are accused of. They will end up committing mass suicide.
Christopher Tym (Holloran): Chatshow pubhomesession
Chat Show is a video artwork produced by Christopher Tym (Holloran) during his residence at Homesession, from March to June 2015. The film suggests a response to the ubiquitous television talk show.
Filmed in Barcelona and New York, Chat Show replicates familiar tele-visual language and forces a dialogue between the central components of the show - the presenter, the guest, the audience, the producer and the observer.
By combing the montage (a system of juxtaposing moving images to create visual grammar) and détournement (turning expressions of a political system and its media culture against itself), Chat Show creates a conversation with one of the most effective and persuasive media formats of the modern age.
The assassin's last word. Sunita Prasadhomesession

Virginie Laganiere and Jean-Maxime Dufresne present La Réserve, a project developed in residence at Homesession. Both artists live and work in Montreal, a city that housed, like Barcelona, several major international events (Olympics Expo'67 and 76): during their stay in Catalonia, they have decided to focus their research on three landmarks of what has been the "Barcelona model" and that are especially relevant when it comes to investigate into the architectural and urbanistic ideology that led to the games of 1992 and the Forum 2004.
With this starting point, Virginie and Jean-Maxime Laganiere Dufresne propose an installation that highlights the reinterpretation of the tales and intentions of the spaces created in these specific contexts, through a writing process within the space by their users. What's at stake is, on one hand, the tension between a desire for narrative control and attempts to open the construction of the landscape toward the possible and, on the other hand, the inevitable drift, inertia or resistance that come over this first intentionality. In this framework, the artists are not only interested by these places because of their status of arrogant sample or ruins of modernity, but by the field of forces that make them up.
La Réserve talks about the conception of certain territories for temporary defined functions, which become, as a result, enclaves for unplanned potentialities, which exceed the power of institutions on the space. The project investigates the ambivalent relationship between measures of control and everyday interactions that represent a permanent critic.
Through documentation, photographs and an installation at Homesession project space, the artists try to "give a form" to the dynamics that cross the selected sites. Working ont its more or less obvious ideological features and its subsequent subversion through use and imaginary, La Réserve is based on the distance between program and contingencies, as well as between plan and time
The Ouroboros Experiment. Emily Robyn Archerhomesession
An installation by Irish artist Emily Robyn Archer, exploring creativity and the everyday.
The ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a dragon eating its own tail. The name originates from within Greek language: οὐρά (oura) meaning «tail» and βόρος (boros) meaning «eating», thus «he who eats the tail».
Since 2007 Homesession has been catalyzing creation in the field of visual arts: its support to artists consists of an international artists’ residency programme and grants for the production of projects which are dedicated to Spanish artists.
With its continued effort to support artists and promote art, Homesession welcomes proposals that utilise diverse media and practices, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary experimentation.
This work is being done in an atypical space in Poble Sec in Barcelona, a former shop that has been converted into a loft, to which a new location will be added in 2012. Homesession intends to complement the work of the institutions in Barcelona’s art scene: it gives a home to proposals that are daring and innovative as much in their contents as in their format and aesthetics, making room for the unexpected.
Special thanks to Javi Moreno, Julien Gardair, Mariokissme, Carolina Cordeiro, Joao Torres.
Barcelona, June 2009 - Daniel Nevers, 7th artist-in-residence for homesession, is an American artist based
in San Francisco. His work is a platform from which he hopes to transform the audience’s perceptions and
perspectives.
Using home-improvement materials in nonconventional ways, Nevers proposes that “do-it-yourself is the new
self-help.” (He begins his artist statement with this slogan, which sheds light on his creative stance toward
punk ideology and pop psychology.) He advances a system of artistic production based in contradictions
dealing with attraction and repulsion, creation and consumption, and function and form.
Order of things - Ely Daou & Miguel Lope Inumerable

normativo,

Orders of things reuneix peces dels artistes Ely Daou

3. persistence to obtain a perfect black background refers mainly
to basic art education and especially to the way its rejects
emptiness or the fact that a surface could remain undrawn.
That is to say: “you have to paint everything! “ Comissionning
the machine to fulfill this mandate, Miguel Lope Inumerable
questions the set of guidelines that structures arts education
and its scale of valuation.
The drawings hanging on the wall correspond to intermediate
stages of the drawing program progress. They underline the
value of the deviation or subversion of the works instructions
to propose new models: what is at stake here is both the only
partial fulfillment of an instruction and the result of that, which
is deeper than expected. In any case, this work opens a helpful
crisis versus the belief in an established order and it does so with
a subtle irony that significantly enhances its critical potential.

Orders of things gathers pieces by Lebanese artist Ely Daou
and Filipino artist Miguel Lope Inumerable, in the framework of a
collaboration with the international workshop that is organized
by the Metáfora School in Barcelona. It focuses on our relation
which what is already there and the way we try to both rely on
this context and develop a higher autonomy.
Ely Daou’s sculptures and installation represent and generate
conflicts with what our rationality assume as perennial evidence
or stable order of things. Looking for how to approach the
point where the stability is lost, Ely Daou works with the figure
of risk as the one that provides a permanente bounce to our
vital dynamics. The tension is thus a key part of the pieces that
he usually exhibits: Ely Daou shows to the viewer part of the
system that keeps the precarious balance of the assembly and
highlights it, by painting it in black .
The movement, more or less noticeable, is also central to his
work: stemming for example from the lack of contact with the
ground or from a simple breeze going through the exhibition
space, it translate the conversation between the piece and its
tangible or intangible context. The points of friction or bonding
between the installation and the exhibition space underline this
attention given to the place where it’s shown: the attachments
merge with the walls, uniting the workpiece and the architecture
of the place, as if it had always already been there: like for our
relationship to the world, it gives the sense of a natural and
normative link.
Normativity is a raw material of the work of Miguel Lope
Inumerable, which is based mainly on drawing and expanded
drawing. The installation Automation displays two screens, that
