The conference has now closed. Kim Mundell, Chief Executive of HiNZ thanked all attendees for their participation. Over the past two days the conference covered important topics in healthcare and how technology can help improve outcomes for all.

- Thank you all for coming to the 2014 HiNZ Conference. I’d like a show of hands. Please raise your hand if the answer is yes to the following questions? Have you met someone here that you didn’t know before? Have you met someone that you plan to connect with again after the conference to continue the conversation? Have you met someone that helped you solve a problem? Well that’s great. The core purpose of HiNZ is to enable better conversations and collaboration across our very diverse sector. It appears that we have taken a step in the right direction. Next question. Have you at any point during the HiNZ Conference met this character?
- No? Well great. So even the people we THOUGHT might have fallen to the dark side aren’t so bad after all. It’s easy to think someone is Mr Potato Head Darth Vadar from the Evil Empire when you don’t know them. And that’s why meeting and collaborating are so important to the success of the health sector transformation.
- I’d like to remind you about our first event in 2014 which is being put on by the School of Population Health at the University of Auckland in February. Please contact Dr Karen Day if you wish to know more. She would be delighted to talk with you about it.
- I would like to thank our fabulous sponsors. Your support this year is most appreciated. Many of them took a leap of faith not knowing what to expect from this year’s conference. I would also like to thank Linda McKay, who has worked very hard behind the scenes on the event logistics. Thank you Linda.
- I would like to personally invite each of you to join us for next year’s conference in Christchurch. We are very excited to be taking the HiNZ Conference down south so we can leverage off some of the great innovations happening in the region. It’s a great venue. Very spacious. And Christchurch will be a year further on in their transformation from disaster zone to innovation hub. I do hope we will see you there.
