The Himalayan cat breed originated in the United States and England in the 1920s from a cross between the Persian and Siamese breeds. Though named after the Himalayas, the breed does not originate from Asia. Himalayan cats have a white coat with cream-colored markings on their face, legs, tail, and ears. They are affectionate, playful, people-friendly cats that enjoy playing with children and sleeping in sunny spots.
